College Town / LSU Ave. is a stronghold of brazen squirrels, raccoons, armadillos, and rodents. When I first moved in neighborhood in '90 I met my neighbor via a gunshot over the fence and falling squirrel. He was CEO of one of the two big BR banks at the time and first looked a little sheepish when he realized he'd been nabbed red-handed discharging a firearm in city limits. He quickly stiffened up and said "we've got to keep these bastards down... you'll see what I mean". It wasn't a month passed when opening my back door a large raccoon bum-rushed me straight backwards into my kitchen. I threw it a half loaf of bread and it took off. True story. Not as cute and cuddly as one would think.
