Wow. Threats of "yanking a knot" in my arse was on the more tame side of the things my grandmother told us she'd do, most of which she kept her word on I might add.

Your life must really suck if you enjoy watching strangers play sports, act, fight, discuss politics, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

ETA: Just looking at the first page of your post history, you like watching pro wrestling and Big Brother. So you like watching people "compete" in a dramatic pre-determined wrestling exhibition and people living in a house together... and you're mocking someone for watching someone else play video games.

WTF is wrong with people? Your life must really suck if you enjoy watching strangers play video games. I just cannot wrap my head around this phenomenon.

Your parents probably thought you were a nut when they saw you playing tetrus.

Not anymore ridiculous than watching someone else play poker on TV, IMO.

Poker on tv is pathetic, but then again my dad loves to watch fishing on tv and that can't be much better.

I think it's silly too but who really cares? It's almost inconsequential to anything of vast importance and it creates a new market.

You want someone to blame? Blame free will, leisure, and capitalism.

I guess deep down you're still just watching people play a game, but it's not really the same thing either.

Well, unless LSU has a competitive gaming team, then I might watch.

I don't really care, but similar to ESPN's huge deal with e-sports, it just baffles me. I guess I'm getting old, because I just can't wrap my mind around the appeal.

And I don't just say that about anything I don't personally enjoy.

I don't really see the issue. I guess if you're really into video games, it can be entertaining to watch the best of the best go at it.

I haven't been into video games for at least 10 years, and honestly if you gave me the choice of watching or playing one of these modern games.. I'd rather frickin watch someone else play than try to play

Well I've watched Les Miles' offenses for years so I can't really dog people for watching boring ridiculous nonsense.

I agree, it's harmless and I'm the last to tell people what to do with their free time. I just don't get it. And I love video games.

My grandmother (we called her momma) was an expert at sayings like that. She was all of 4'11' and the most terrifying person I've ever met and it's not even really close.

I remember one time when I was about 9-10 or there about some stranger pulled up in our yard while me and my brother were outside playing. He got out of his car and called me and him over and started asking if our momma was home. About that time momma came running out of the house with a 12 gauge in her hands leveled at him. We're standing there just in shock at what's happening. She's standing there with this 12 gauge about 6" from his face and he's just as frozen as we are. I can still remember what she said to him, "you've got 10 seconds to get off my property or the undertaker will be wiping your arse tonight". Needless to say, he did as he was told.

Only after he was gone did I find out he was the drunkard fraternal grandfather that we'd never met. She considered that whole side to be complete trash so we were kept away from them. Which as I was to find out after she died, she was right about them.

Why am I having flashbacks to ESPN2 televising Magic: The Gathering tournaments using the same kind of coverage as the World Series of Poker?

"Well, Bob, we see that Arnold has a Shivan Dragon in his hand which gives him a 80% chance of winning the duel as of now."
