My 7 year old daughter watched a video of someone building her favorite girl lego sets for 2 hours last night. After her 3 hour gymnastics practice.
I'm such a failure for letting her watch YouTube!

Your life must really suck if you enjoy watching strangers play video games.

And for perspective, Alabama vs lsu has 3.5-4 million households watching.

I feel like I'm getting trolled hard but I'll bite again.
Watching sports = normal behavior
Watching people play Nintendo = not normal
You are equating normal behavior with this ridiculous, abnormal behavior under the guise of "both are games."
It's like saying pouring orange juice in your cereal is the same as pouring milk in it because "both are beverages." No. One is weird as frick behavior even if millions of people do it and like it.

If you haven't seen the comparison yet, I doubt anything I say will help.
I've read enough of your posts to know you're not an idiot. But you're doing your damnedest to convince me otherwise.

To be fair, we are mostly talking about the best video game players in the world playing the newest games.
There arent millions of people standing by online waiting for someone to play zelda from regular nintendo.
We all blow a ton of time on this site. Is that normal?

I'm in a GroupMe chat with 10 of my friends and we are in there daily talking about anything and everything. It has been going on for 2 years non-stop. My wife makes fun of me for it.

I usually watch stuff like this for computer games like Total War. Mainly to get a feel for the games interface and see how it plays, that way I can make a decision on buying it. It's also cool to see people play wrestling games and do crazy shite moves.

I read Star Wars books all the time.
I'm done making fun of people for what they find entertaining

A guy you know loves comic books and I ragged on him for it until I read one of them. I thought it was pretty cool.
People are different. As long as you have a good moral compass I don't really gaf what you like to do in your free time.

For everything you find entertaining, someone else finds stupid, and vice versa.
More interested in enjoying my various interests than hating on others for theirs, tbh. Getting all worked up over someone else's tastes is exhausting after awhile.

How is it any different than watching sports on tv?
You probably watch people hunting and fishing on tv even though it's an activity you could easily do yourself.
As someone said above, there's something appealing about watching the best of the best in the world competing regardless the activity.

How boring would life be if everyone in society had the same interests? There would be no progress. Life would be static.
CapperVin would probably masturbate till his knuckles bled but who gives a frick what that freak thinks.

I have no argument for the difference between this and poker other than my own personal bias as to what is more normal. I guess I just don't get it. I'll stop trying to.

the OP?
lots of twitch gamers get donations
this guy wanted to troll them by making big donations, to watch them get excited, only to rescind the donation
paypal said they were not going to let him rescind the donation, so he (really his parents) is on the hook
