When is it time to call out the doomsday people?

We all had the friend / relative (or even a fellow OT’er) who gave the dire warnings regarding millions of deaths in the US, martial law, rioting over food shortages and all the other things that were going to happen. All of these things were based on a relative or close friend who worked at the Pentagon / CIA / DHS or some other place. It wasn’t a rumor, it was “fact” and their info was beyond question. It was always occurring in “two days” or “on Monday” as well.
None of it has come to pass. Is it time to call these idiots out and point out how their hysteria is the cause of panic and hoarding? Or do you just shake your head and let these people go on even though you both know how stupid they were?

Sure. Call out both the 'millions' people and the '15, about to be 0' people.

It’ll never happen. Our society is addicted to doomsday prophecies.

Social distancing and flattening the curve saved us from this....barely.

It is a long way from being decided what the end will look like.
It's been politicized.

So you're free to go wherever you want and do pretty much whatever you like then?

Meanwhile a nurse in Italy would cut your throat right now

When there are troops and tanks blocking street intersections, we have martial law. This isn’t that.

Hospital administrators on here are crying about how much money they are losing
Wait until hospitals start asking for a stimulus, and the rest of the nation goes
, we shut the entire country down for you bawsPosted on 4/11/20 at 2:23 pm to RobbBobb
My old lady is a nurse and she spends half her night sleeping since they won’t admit anyone who isn’t critical and they have no CV patients on her ward. They usually have 10 nurses where she is and they have cut back to 6.

What difference does that make? We aren’t Italy.

Maybe in/partially in her scrubs?

Well OK then. Totally related to the OP and the people who made predictions regarding martial law and the like.
You sound exactly like the emotional panic mongers.
