Considered the most significant night in wrestling history by many.
That night he changed the trajectory of WCW, creating the most iconic stable in wrestling history.

I think I heard a podcast one time that said they didn’t tell the announcers who the third man was either so their play by play reaction would be even more authentic.

It is interesting to think what mid-90s era Vince would have done to practically destroy Hogan. WWF, creatively speaking, was floundering during that time. They had no direction and the "Hulkamaniac" era was in a death spiral.

When he wanted to ride the momentum Scott and Kevin created
Era
We gonna act like that's not what happened? He didn't want anything to do with a heel turn until he saw potential in making himself some money with what Hall and Nash brought to the table. They were the most interesting and over thing WCW had going.
Even as a heel..you knew that Razor Ramon was probably cool IRL. Hogan jumped on it as fast as he could, and put himself in position to be the face of it.

How many friendships and family relationships destroyed by this?
How many playground fights erupted over this?
Countless.
Countless.

The greatest Face and Heel of all time.
I also convinced that he's the most recognizable person in the world.

The day that changed wrestling forever.
Most don't realize just how close Bischoff/WCW came to putting WWF and Vince out on their arse. If it hadn't been for DX(which was Vince's answer to the NWO) and the birth of the Attitude Era, along with the double turn at the Hart-Austin match, WWE would have died.

Al Pacino forms the nWo.
Someone used AI to recreate this seminal moment with Al Pacino in the starring role. Give it a listen; it's fantastic.

I've never seen anyone draw instant heat like that and I probably never will again.

What helped is that legions of dyed-in-the-wool WCW fans (Southern rasslin' fans, like me), were already angry with Hogan for ruining Georgia rasslin', chnaging it from the hard-nosed style of action we watched with Flair and Dusty and the Andersons, and turning it into another circus-like, more northern style promotion.

Significant night in his career vs significant night for wrestling are two different things. This impacted wrestling like no other.

The Wrestlemania 3 match was a bigger deal for wrestling. Its solidified WWF as the top promotion and ppv as a viable revenue stream.
