It is about to get interesting. The government is slow to get this money out to individuals and it doesn’t seem banks/truly small businesses know how to do the SBA loans.

They got it figured out late yesterday. I got a call from my bank about 5pm and they stayed late so a few of us could get the new application back to them before they left.

So the guy making 100k a year had no savings, no access to credit, and can't make ends meet for a couple of months at 2400.... Plus they have no 401k to borrow against penalty free.

Instead they will start rioting?

People working illegally, or didn't have jobs? Working for someone who didn't pay into unemployment? Own their business?

Going to be tough, they were obviously in a risky position

Proof that our education system has failed the public.
Homec was destroyed because feminists got their panties in a wad and shop class was destroyed because some kids got hurt and hover parents couldn’t handle it
Trade schools were destroyed because the boomers took a giant shite on blue collar workers.
So there’s an entire generation that doesn’t know how to cook or do basic household chores or basic mechanical and electrical knowledge or basic planning and economics.
It’s ridiculous. We need to overhaul the education system.
High schools in America went from being a true learning system to a college preparatory system which is finally rearing it’s ugly head.
Combine all of that with our throw away and hire someone to do it culture and you get the mess we’re in

All true, the only good news is trade schools were starting to make a comeback over the last few years, and this will remind a lot of people why they are as important as colleges, if not more so.

Agree. And I know many financial advisors. It would baffle you the stories of folks that just don’t care about money management. Dumb fricks

Yep, and the stores already said you can't bring back the 20 30 packs of toilet paper you bought rather than nonperishables food. You know, canned/dehydrated goods?

Not a bad idea if you live in a inner city/urban area that you relocate elsewhere. OTOH, if you are a thug stay there. We don't want you and we have ways to protect ourselves from you.

am more concerned about the point where a gigantic amount of people run out of money and there isn't enough charity or government assistance to keep feeding them all.

Well, obviously if that happens then that's when the shooting starts. Once that kicks off you won't be worried about checks from the government anymore.

that's not true; yes, some banks are still confused and they are changing things constantly, but they got billions of dollars out already in the first day of opening it.

No they didn’t. Some banks may have taken a few applications but they are likely sitting on a desk somewhere in that bank this weekend.

Well then, I guess I'm a C+ student. I'm probably in the high 70 percentile and I'm solidly employed.

Not too shabby, sounds like my high school and college career. C for Credit!

but dont worry those relief checks will be going out in the mail in 3-4 weeks when everyone goes back to work

they made such a huge deal of how they had no choice and immediate relief was needed because people have rent payments. then they do it and wait 6 weeks to start sending out checks how the frick is that immediate or any relief at all since we will be into month 3 of shutting the country down before the checks go out?

What should have happened in the stimulus bill is that money should have gone to employers with the caveat that all of the money must be used to retain everyone on their payroll. This would obviate the need for people having to file for unemployment which is currently a train wreck overloading most state unemployment systems. To enforce the caveat that the money must go to pay employee wages, the bill should have included a penalty that failure to do so is a felony whereby CEOs and management can be imprisoned. This is because fines and other trivial monetary penalties would not dissuade a company from abusing the funds being given.
