The bartenders I know wouldn't mind getting $750 a week to watch Netflix again all week if they do. Very true. But that gravy train is about to come to an end.
Yeah, the $600/wk federal bonus is set to expire at the end of July, my bet is that like every other federal program it will be extended, especially if the numbers cont to rise

In Louisiana? That’s a big no no. No live music whatsoever

I could be wrong but I don’t see the republican held senate pushing through any type of extension on a $600/week unemployment
Posted on 6/27/20 at 11:34 am to ykevin25
They absolutely will. Especially as numbers continue to rise. Trump has already said he wants another stimulus.

Is that a state rule or just a stupid Destroya one?

State.
You can have a DJ but no live music.

That’s strange or maybe it only applies to indoors. The Mexican place by me has a little band several nights a week outside

Yep in Louisiana. Tri parish area. I won’t say where

Friend,
I sure hope so. This time, let’s make it permanent.

Don’t know if the rule applies to indoors or outdoors. I saw a Fire Marshall inspection report and it shut a place down that was supposed to have a band tonight. Said they could have a DJ but no live music.

Option 1: Close bars and be pushed to go to phase 3
Option 2: keep things where we are at in phase 2, limit bars to 25% and pull licenses if exceeded and maybe phase 3 in mid August
Option 3: bars continue to not follow the limit and Edwards goes to phase 3 middle of July and come Mid August we are shelter at home
So out of all the option I prefer option 2, however study has shown if both parties wear face mask, then virus can’t be spread. So if we all just wore face mask for the next month we will be completely open by September. But in Louisiana I see that never happening

There's a bunch of oilfield baws who will be in a world of hurt if those benefits aren't extended. The extra $600 per week has allowed them to manage this current oilfield downturn. Without it, there will be a lot families who will be put in a bind.

I don't like it but the bars are a problem right now. If people cannot accept that going out a crowded bar makes you more likely to catch covid then take their toy away from them. The public freak out is just evidence of Louisiana being at the bottom of education

Guess Americans are ok with cowering in fear of the boogie man. How much longer are we going to continue just being alive vs living. Death is something that will come for all of us regardless of this virus.
Are we going to hurt everyone's future to try and stop (stop isn't the word because the spread of the virus is inevitable) something that we have no way of tracking or containing?
People die daily and to act like the age group and sickly impacted the most don't have a higher risk of dying from anything they catch is just foolish.
This isn't just about the bars, it's about things like financial wellbeing and schooling as well. You have people going broke and children who can't afford to not be at school missing out.

You do know that Federal money is going bye bye soon, right??? Trump and Pence are still ignoring we have a disaster unfolding. Do you think they will extend the extra $600? That would be admitting there is a problem.
The people acting like there is no problem, are the same one's who will be crying when they can't party or go to work.
But... but...”It my constitutional right not to wear a mask or follow guidelines”!!
But.. But... ”Why did they cut off the extra unemployment”!!!
But..But... ”Trump said the virus was fading away”!!!
But... But... ” what do you mean, you're cutting my power off”?? I don't have a job!!
”What do you mean... ”If we had taken precautions we wouldn't have to close back down”!!!
”The OT told me that if I were healthy, everything would be okay”!!!
”They said that we should be worried about the ”CHOP” area and Statues”!!
But... But... ” I can't go back to work”!!! My kids school is closed”!!! ” All of the daycares are closed because the staff is on quarantine”!!

Not only that, but to be classified as not a bar, but rather a restaurant with a bar, you have to have a certain percentage of your sales come from food. Serving hot dogs isn't going to get you there
Yes, but no one was enforcing it.
I know of 4 bars around me that never served even a bag of chips that all of a sudden started cooking burgers and hot dogs in the phase one openings.
I know if many now that are back having live bands even though they arent supposed to.
I dont care one way or the other but just pointing out without enforcement the restrictions are pointless
