Ours was 14 this year and a freshman in HS. Everyone knows the deal, but he's still playing it out for everyone's sake (and the fact that he gets extra presents from santa).

I was eight years old in the third grade. My mom warned me not to spoil it for the younger ones. I felt like an initiate into some gnostic secret order.

Mine figured it out years bf I knew they did.

Middle school is too soft these days. We weren’t believing in Santa after 4th.
I mean really 6th grade you’re starting to look at girls. Who gives a shite about Santa.

I remember the class discovering a few kids still believed in Santa in fourth grade and they were mercilessly bullied

my son is 10 and is quickly realizing that there’s a high chance santa isn’t real
exact same for me... we just let him in on the Elf on the Shelf truth... so i'm sure he can put 2 and 2 together to figure out that Santa ain't real either...
VERY HAPPY to not have to do the Elf on the Shelf shite anymore... had i known how much fricking sleep i'd lose over the years b/c of this, we would have NEVER done this shite...

I can't lie to my children, so as soon as they ask me I tell them

I figured it out at 4 but mom lied to me so took until 7 to confirm the lie. There was a Santa at even every grocery store in the 1950's was the key to my discovery. Every Christmas Eve I would threaten my younger sister that I would hide on the staircase then run out and pull Santa's beard before he left any presents. She would cry and scream at me not to do it.

I was roughly 8 when I was riding in the truck with my dad and said “Santa isn’t real is he?” My father pushed back slightly but I stated my reasons why and he confirmed my suspicions.
There’s something magical about that time in your life, and about seeing a child experience it. We have a 10 year old niece who still believes but is starting to rally question it. Her sister is 6 and still 100% bought in, and our daughter just celebrated her first Christmas so she has quite a while to go. That being said, I hope she believes as long as she can. The world is a hard, cruel place and I want her to at least see the magic in it for as long as possible.

I was in first grade. I was informed by my friend who had a brother 3 years older.
I recall the gym teacher saying it in class when I was in fifth grade, followed with “surely no one here still believes in Santa”.
ETA: I never talked to my folks about it until probably college, or later
.
I always went along for my little sister’s sake, even after she surely knew the truth.
