Everyone on the OT can run a 5k in under 29 minutes with no training.

I learned that this past week. Makes my 5k training feel inadequate.....

12 years ago when the scale hit 222. I'm 165 today (at 5'11").

That's not to say I haven't had my ups and downs since then. I got back up to 190 over the winter, but running and eating better got me back down 25 pounds. That's the second time in 4 years I had to relearn that lesson.

It was less an “I’m out of shape” and more of a “I’m apparently not as young as I used to be...” but mine was a couple of years ago when the elevator line at the courthouse was long and I took the stairs. Now, very high ceilings so each floor is a solid two standard flights of stairs, but I thought I was going to fricking die when I hit the sixth floor.

Ever since then, I’ll take the stairs on occasion just to get a little cardio, because I’m one of those lazy fricks who don’t hit the gym after work every day.

6 flights of double stairs in a suit? Yeah most people, even in shape, would be sucking wind

Fair, but as someone who played various sports year-round from the age of about 3 through 18, it fricked with my head a little bit

I was in Moab and was winded walking up a hill.

That walk to the Delicate Arch vantage point is a killer.

Also, walking 3 blocks in San Francisco at a 21 deg gradient.

SAYING YES TO RUNNING A MARATHON WITH NO TRAINING - Is it possible?

This guy actually ran a marathon with virtually no training. It's a long video, but the last few minutes are pretty interesting.

The day a soccer friend of mine challenged me to a 40yd dash. I'd always been a fast kid so i figured I was still just as fast. It's been several years since I've played any physically demanding sport. After the sprint (I barely lost) I started seeing spots and almost didn't make it to the water fountain. Almost puked.

I've been going to the gym and running ever since.

When I had to use a different hole in my belt and stopped wearing certain pants because I couldn’t button them.

ETA:
I downloaded the couch to 5K app, have started running, and have cut down on beer consumption. It will be a slow process but I think in about 3 months or so I can tighten that belt back up and return to wearing those old pants.

What's your method? Just run a lot, eat clean, and no alcohol?

Freshman year of college. I lived in acceptance until age 25 and then got into running/exercising and dropped 30 pounds. Haven't looked back since

Odd observation.

Sounds like it’s from Lewis Carroll.

Another “First” for the O-T!
