I grew up poor and just wanted to better myself. Didn't have kids at a young age or outside of wedlock, focused on career first. Worked well. No privilege here, just working for what I have.

People who complain should try it. If it worked for me, it will work for them.

How can one become aware of a privilege, when it is a choice to have it or not. If you want to be respected in society, then you respect others. Be a worthwhile individual on a daily basis and you shall walk through life with ease.

Assumption made when you associated multiple children living in one bed to systemic racism (op) instead of their parents not engaging in responsible life planning.

Nope. These were white people. Most of your OP was utter nonsense.

Your original question in the title is interesting enough, I ignored the rest of the bullshite you tried to force into it.

When I walked out of Walmart at 7:00 this morning after working last night as a frozen dairy stocker for $11.50 an hour.

At first I thought it was my white privilege, but then I figured out it was just my lower back and knees screaming.

I'm still not "woke" but...

As a young guy I did some retail management gigs. I was in training at a retail chain when this salesman walks up to me and a group of managers:

Me (Mgr. Trainee): Mid-20's white guy
Assistant Assistant Manager: Very young looking white guy
Assistant Manager: Old black guy
Manager: Old white woman

The salesman walks straight to me, says, "You must be the manager" and shakes my hand. I just said, "Nope. I'm in training."

He shakes the younger white guy's hand, who says, "Nope. Try again."

He then shakes the old black guys's hand (black guy shakes his head "no").

Finally, he apologizes to the old woman. She told him she was busy and for him to try some other time.

I was pulled over in the 80s and had a friend of mine who was black riding with me.

The cops had us out of the car questioning us and as I was casually talking to one police officer, I glanced over and the other officer had my friends pockets turned inside out with his hands on the hood. When we got back in the car I told him I'm glad it was white cops that pulled us over. he didn't think it was a funny as I did.

I get that people don't want to be shamed for privilege, but I also find it hilarious that a bunch of mostly middle class white people from stable homes can't even admit that they had/have privilege

Its so weird to me

Right. You don’t have to be a woke communist to recognize some level of privilege exists

I guess when I started working in our family store when I was 13 years old. Everyday after school, weekends and 12 hours a day during the summers.
It was the best business education I could have gotten because I learned how to do everything from cleaning toilets, mopping, sweeping, building maintenance, landscaping, stocking shelves, inventory, accounting, sales and so much more.

I saved enough to pay my own way through college where I also worked my arse off when not in class.

What a privilege.

Why should we?

The admission of privilege is just more bullzhit aimed at dividing people and excusing the shitty behavior of millions of people who perceive themselves as victims...

Why play this stupid fking game in the first place?

I don’t have any privilege that my family didn’t bust their arse for. We were dirt poor.

By todays standards I guess when I was born bc being white automatically makes you privileged. If people want better, they will work for it.
