six inch steak and cheese with chips and a drink was $11.43.

We stopped at the one in Elec on our last trip- 2 6” subs, 2 12” subs, all with chips and a drink…$65 ?????? I almost fell over. And it still tasted exactly like it did before the slicers and ‘upgrades’.

That was the last time I’ll ever ‘Eat Fresh’

Fast food is ridiculous these days. If you want to eat on the cheap go to ethnic places. For example, La Frontera in Denham on Florida/River Road has the best Steak Burrito anywhere for 7 bucks.

So you ordered enough to feed at least six people. A little over $10 per person. I think your choice of subway was bad, but I fail to see how this price was so egregious.

I made that mistake yesterday reminiscing that I haven’t had Cane’s in forever. $17 for a Caniac meal.

If a Caniac is one meal for you then you have bigger problems than money

When folks were allowed to work remote, they moved to desirable areas thus creating a housing crisis - pricing out the normal folks who were already there. In order for these normal folks to afford the housing, they demanded higher wages to keep up with the folks who were living and working remote in the same area.

Higher wages = higher costs for the consumer

The little mexican to-go places inside of gas stations in my area can usually get you a good meal for <$10.

Speaking of Mexican restaurants, we had a new one open up in town here a few weeks ago. Fountain soft drinks are $3.75. I've never seen them near that high anywhere around here.

There have been some menu changes and it seems that prices increased around the same time.

You get less of a lower quality product made by an employee who is making the same wage they did when footlongs were $5. Welcome to the new America

Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's

Used to eat only Jimmy John's, but the Jersey Mike's in front of my neighborhood just opened and I had it yesterday. I sense my allegiance has changed. Subway sucks, has for years. Quizno's was good, so was Blimpie. I'm indifferent about Firehouse. It's not bad, but I'm never close to one.

Their new menu items are higher quality food then what they had before. That could explain it.

Thank Joe Biden. Also praise him while getting gasoline. 81 million voted for this. I know one moron that voted for him and she damn sure won’t talk about it now.

Drinks are where restaurants make a killing. My family only orders water when eating out.
