Better off getting an electric range for resale value. In about 5 years buyers will insist you replace the gas with electric.

My Bosch dishwasher is the worst I’ve ever had. The wheels started falling off of the basket soon after installation and the whirly thing at the top thar dispenses water also fell off. Either terrible installation or horrible product. Next one won’t be Bosch.

$1,200 at Best Buy for Frigidaire Professional gas range. It’s nice. Pre-gov-collision, of course. Probably higher now. If you have a BB near you, it’s worth (or was) going to look at what they have on their floor for quick sale. Picked up a nice stainless fridge bc of a small dent. $900 floor price vs its regular price, think I saved 50%. I understand wanting a quality product you never have to replace again, but unless some sort of gourmet cook and your parties revolve around it, crazy prices are stupid. Just get what does the job. As someone said in a comment, Maw Maw didn’t have to the top brand. Probably an old typical enamel stove/oven and cooked with cast iron. We know nobody’s food is as good as Maw-Maw’s. It isn’t the appliance that makes good food, it’s the cook as the love and care they put into it.

You're gonna pay 3k for the extra 6 inches.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

You should know better about speaking negatively on gas ranges here on the OT. That's a no-no.

We got a 48” and had to go with a lesser brand to stay around $5k.

We recently upgraded our gas stove and hood vent. We opted for the 30" after much deliberation, as the 36" would have been too much stove for us (just the wife and I now). You should consider bringing in the pots you cook with, or use some in the store if available, and look at the layout of 4 pots compared to 6 pots. It is difficult to fit 6 pots on the stove at once, and consider how often will you ever have more than 4 burners going at the same time. I was leaning very hard to 36" but once I stepped back, considered the layout, the 4 burner with center strip for pot and pan movement was the most ideal for us. We were mulling over GE prof series, Jennair, Zline, viking, thermador, blue line and an italian brand. The burner components is what drove us too Jennair, heavier cast iron and brass components worth considering for high output burners. We have been extremely satisfied with the Jennair so far. Jennair was and may still be running a program where you buy a component, and can get another component free, or discounted.
