When computers actually start to rule the world...

We have a nationwide shortage of adderal due to the incompetence of the feds. They decided to allow prescriptions with virtual visits during the pandemic and no one thought to authorize manufacturers to make more.
Not a bad thing as it was not working that well anyway with my child. There was a new medicine we tried that worked very well. But our insurance did not cover it and the retail would have it costing several thousand a year. They had a coupon if insurance did not cover it and we used it. Been using it for a few months and the results of the meds have been amazing. Serious improvement in school. Now some middle company named Change Healthcare has a computer glitch and they cannot say when it will be fixed so they cannot process the coupon. So I am stuck paying retail. I do not like paying this much but I can afford it and it is working so I will. I do fear there are a lot of working folks who cannot afford such outlays for their medication and will simply have to go without.
What concerns me is this company had no manual or other workaround and I have noticed more and more situations like this as time marches on. Are we past the point of no return?

Have you tried Mark Cubans pharmaceutical company? Just a suggestion to look into, not sure if it would have the medication cheaper.
Also there was a cyber attack threat on pharmaceutical companies last week so some companies did shut down services while they looked to improve security.

Are you seriously this naive?
Computer glitches are bullshite excuses, always have been.
Theyre probably just tired of losing money on your coupon.

I, for one, welcome our computer overlords.

This was on the manufacturers end but it is interesting what he is doing.

Not a bad kid. Not a discipline problem. Just a focus issue. A serious one that we tried other methods before taking out a prescription.

I have a prescription still sitting at the pharmacy because of this. The cost should be $27.00 for a 90 day supply with Good RX. They can’t access Good RX to validate it so what they are doing is charging a cash price if you need the medication immediately. The cash price for this particular medication is a few hundred dollars compared to the Good RX price. I told them I’ll wait until they get it sorted out

My mom tried to beat it out of me and teachers made me write lines, copy dictionary pages and copies of The Charge of The Light Brigade.

No. The massive over prescribing of Adderall is the issue.

What was the med that worked?

Here is a very brief scifi story about computers taking over the world.
"Answer" by Fredric Brown (1954) (complete short-short story)
Dwan Ev ceremoniously soldered the final connection with gold. The eyes of a dozen television cameras watched him and the subether bore throughout the universe a dozen pictures of what he was doing.
He straightened and nodded to Dwar Reyn, then moved to a position beside the switch that would complete the contact when he threw it. The switch that would connect, all at once, all of the monster computing machines of all the populated planets in the universe -- ninety-six billion planets -- into the supercircuit that would connect them all into one supercalculator, one cybernetics machine that would combine all the knowledge of all the galaxies.
Dwar Reyn spoke briefly to the watching and listening trillions. Then after a moment's silence he said, "Now, Dwar Ev."
Dwar Ev threw the switch. There was a mighty hum, the surge of power from ninety-six billion planets. Lights flashed and quieted along the miles-long panel.
Dwar Ev stepped back and drew a deep breath. "The honor of asking the first question is yours, Dwar Reyn."
"Thank you," said Dwar Reyn. "It shall be a question which no single cybernetics machine has been able to answer."
He turned to face the machine. "Is there a God?"
The mighty voice answered without hesitation, without the clicking of a single relay.
"Yes, now there is a God."
Sudden fear flashed on the face of Dwar Ev. He leaped to grab the switch.
A bolt of lightning from the cloudless sky struck him down and fused the switch shut.
