I would send the Fat Face of Fake News, CNN’s Brian Stelter to the middle of the hurricane. The massive low pressure system inside his skull and his massive land mass will stop a hurricane faster than he stops the truth or factual reporting on his left wing corporate propaganda show.

Assuming dumping ice into the Gulf of Mexico will work (at least well enough for this thread).
Where do we get the ice in sufficient quantities (without steeling from any ice sheets)? The Oort Cloud or even the asteroid belt probably has plenty of ice, alternatively we could hijack a snowball comet. That's how we can supply the ice to dump into the Gulf and the Caribbean.
A reason it's a stupid way is: it'll take too long to get to the source and back, because our space ships are too slow
. We'd have to plan this out years ahead of time.
There's other reasons, too. But I'll let y'all identify them. On the plus side, HBO had a movie about the comical side of the ice moving industry.
