Computers that will “read” your mind. Experiments are going on now where they show a person an image and then read the brains reaction to that image. After they do that 11ty billion times, the computer will be able replicate from your brain what your eyes see.

With all of the listening and learning that Alexa, google, Siri and others are doing these days I think we will see the perfection of natural speech recognition technology. Total voice integrated smart homes, cars...etc with and real time translation devices. I also see personal health monitoring making huge advances with wearables advancing rapidly.

I think VR is gonna get huge. It will be similar, but not as extreme as the "Ready Player One" movie.
People already live virtual lives, VR allows it to almost be real. I think it's inevitable.

How many years away are we from creating a VR that would be indistinguishable from life as we know it?

Private air travel on par with commercial air travel! God how I would love to get from A to B when I want quickly in and out of tiny airports for the same price as southwest.

Functional immortality for those wealthy enough to pay for it.
We already cryogenically freeze some things, but humans are next.
We'll start having giant storage facilities filled with people that have paid big dollars to freeze themselves until a cure for their disease is found, 100 years has passed, or their grandchildren get married, etc.
As that becomes more widely spread and the tech improves, people will start freezing themselves for shorter periods and multiple times so they can live their otherwise regular lifespan over a long period of time. People will freeze themselves until the next installment in a movie trilogy comes out, or their vacation date arrives, or their dream car becomes more affordable, or some other minor instance they can't wait for.
Lifespans will largely stay the same or even shorten due to all the stopping and starting of the body, but lives will be lived over centuries of pausing and resuming.

In 15 years? Definitely the emergence of thinking A.I.
If we give it the ability to design itself, it will rapidly become super A.I.
We are on the threshold of creating real A.I.
It is our destiny, even our purpose to create the first non-biological species, A.I.

I think people who say cars will still be owned are missing the point. Everyone forgets iPhones came from iTouch which can from iPads. It is an evolution and each one of those iProducts evolved from the other. The iPhone didn’t just come into existence one day, it evolved there.
The same will happen with the auto industry. It is starting with autonomous cars. It will evolve into something even greater on a mass transportation scale.
Imagine a world where you can book a car by phone and it shows up immediately or at whatever set time. You can hop in the car and go wherever you need. It will destroy domestic air travel. Imagine being able to order a special sleeping car and travel overnight to wherever you want in the US. Speeds on highways will increase significantly as technology improves and the fuel efficiency will be completely revamped by that time as well.
Car ownership will be a thing of the past and ride share companies like Uber and Lyft will have their own vehicles. It will be cheaper, safer, reliable, faster, and more efficient. People will wonder how we used to do it. It won’t be 15 years though, more like 20-30 but it has already started.
