What's your favorite sunglass brand and why?

For the moment, I'm going with Maui Jim. I'm on my second pair as of now, but since I discovered this morning that my vision insurance gives a $165 credit toward the purchase of new sunglasses, I ordered some Costas I'd been considering for a little bit.

And yeah, I know a bunch of folks are gonna chime in with their support of convenience store shades and there's nothing wrong with those; just curious to hear from others who are willing to spend a little more money on a good pair of glasses. I'm personally very light sensitive (triggers headaches/migraines), so I'm willing to part with at least enough to get polarized lenses.

I rotate between a handful of Knockaround pairs and a pair of simple Ray-Ban Wayfarers. Works for me.

Costa is for LP baws. Maui is for try hard frat boys.

I have some Revo's I got for like $65 that have been great. Fit me well and have good polarized lenses.

I treat sunglasses horribly too and they've stood up well. If sunglasses could talk they would think I'm Sid the evil kid from Toy Story to them.

I like those. I'm willing to go on a limb and say those are more representative of frat taste, though.

Not sure what this means. Clarification?

I've not seen many wearing them (not saying they don't). I started wearing them years ago before most people knew what they were.

Eyebuydirect

Only costs ~$100 for prescription, polarized shades that are every bit as high quality as Ray-Ban or any other "name brand" you could come up with like that.

I have been working on a theory that sun glasses actually weaken my ability to deal with the sun. I have not used mine, and utilize a hat when working in the yard, etc. Been happy so far with my natural processes dealing with glares.

I like my costas. I think they're the Cat Cay model. I have the green mirror lenses that I like, I will say that they aren't that effective when you're looking straight into the sun, which is a little frustrating when your driving home after work and the sun is setting in front of you. I have an old pair of oakleys I always liked but I like the costas better.

I've got perfect vision still (knock on wood), so this isn't really an option for me as of now. My wife wears them and I don't know if I could ever get to the point of sticking something like that directly on my eye. Creeps me out.
