1965...Pan Am military charter from Charleston to Paris. Gear showed up when supposed to be down. We landed in a field next to the runway, to this day I remember my Mom with her beads.

December 1989. My unit was rotating to MCAS Iwakuni for our 6-month UDP stint. Halfway between Anchorage and Tokyo, one of the engines on the chartered 747 ate itself and flames shot out the back of it. The plane immediately started to circle as the pilots surveyed the situation and tried to decide whether to continue on to Tokyo or turn back.

The only thought I remember having was "I better put my boots back on because that water is going to be cold."

No really bad, just a few seconds of panic. Flying with a friend in his Bonanza, I'm in the copilot seat. I look over and he's hunched over like he's passed out or dead. He was just looking at a chart on the floor, but it was an oh shite moment for a little while.

Coolest moment was landing on a gravel bar in the Alaskan wilderness in a Super Cub.

What a harrowing experience, James. Please ask anytime you’d like to use the jet and I’ll see what I can do!

Not a bad experience, but funny.

Was flying to Tampa from Houston. Get to the airport all set, about 2 hours before my flight. Find a nice spot in front of a board, start listening to music. Flight leaves at 645, I'm chilling. About 620, I start making my way down the terminal.

As I approach the gate, the destination flips for the next flight. At the same time a pilot is sprinting to the gate behind me.

I give them my boarding pass, theybsay they've been calling me for 30 minutes, whatever.

I board, of course I'm in the last row, so I get to walk by everyone already seated. Then the intercom kicks on and I shite you not the pilot, still trying to catch his breath from sprinting on behind me, blames 'a late passenger'.

Everyone gave me death stares as I walked the aisle. We took off exactly on time.

I ended up getting jerked off and blown by a man once. I was really horney and drunk. It was a 12 hour flight and he was very persistent and convincing. I’m not gay at all but it was the most amazing thing ever. I’m still ashamed and wish it never happened.

I was about 15 or 16 at the time. I had flown to Massachusetts to visit relatives with my family in early December and had to come back early to Shreveport by myself. The day i was flying back, the whole country was covered in a snowstorm. My original itinerary was Hartford ct, st Louis, Shreveport. (this was back in the TWA days) Get to St Louis, they are all messed up from the weather, flights getting canceled and delayed left and right. Finally get on a plane to Dallas to make a Shreveport connection there. Get to Dallas in time to make the last seat on the last puddle jumper plane out of Dallas to Shreveport that night. I get the very front seat next to the door. They close the door. They reopen the door, and tell me (at 15, I was about 110 lbs soaking wet) that i need to get off the plane because the plane is overweight. Lest i remind you that we are going to Shreveport, and there are Shreveport natives on the plane (read big arse fricking people), and they still said I had to get off due to weight concerns. Got kicked off the plane, given about $4 to get a burger at McDonald's in the airport, which was closed, and a hotel voucher to a nearby embassy suites. Get loaded in one of about 10 cattle cars of people in the same situation with the same voucher, stood in line for 2 hours, but finally was rewarded with the presidential suite (HA). Only got to enjoy it for about 4 hours as i was booked on the first flight out to port city the next morning, but you best believe I raided that mini fridge and had movies and porn rolling the whole time!

Flying back from Jamaica we had three kids in the seats in front of us. One that cried half of the time, one that was obnoxiously loud(screaming and talking) and the other had her tablet volume maxed out. This did wonders for my anxiety riddled hangover Our connecting flight was in Charlotte. We get to our seats and sure as shite here comes the loud arse kids and they sit right in front of us again. I’ll never understand parents that let their kids behave like that. They didn’t do shite. Well the mom did shush the girl that was screaming once it got to eardrum piercing levels.

These people should be banned by the airline.

Get approximately 1/3 of the way back and can feel the plane banking left. Pilot comes on and says we have to turn back bc some of the crew had reached max flight hours.

Wtf? I would've been beyond pissed. Isn't something you should know before hand before you take off?

I missed all but the last 2 minutes of the Super Bowl this year sitting on the tarmac awaiting maintenance/deicing when my plane was supposed to land 2 hours before the game started. Eventually they kicked us off and we had to find accommodations for the night.

Frustrating part was is they were offering money to switch to a plane that had a 2 hour later original departure and that one took off seamlessly.

Had some bad ones, but once we had the masks drop from some glitch and it was during a rain storm.

A little pee pee came out.

Were you flying out of BR? On Saturday, some people who were meeting us in LV was flying out of BR and connecting in Dallas. They checked the night before, the morning before, on the way to the airport, when they arrive to the airport.. There were no delays.. Went through TSA, went to their gate, it was getting close to loading time and all of a sudden it was delayed... For 3 hours for maintenance.

They came back yesterday, when they got to Dallas, they evidently had a clusterfrick of an experience. It seems like I hear people having bad experiences when they have to connect at the Dallas or Denver airport... Or at least more than I would say average..
