I see this dude out waving to people in front of his house every morning. From what I hear from everyone out here, the dude is a great guy just dirt poor and evidently since someone did some digging,he was found to be behind on his taxes.

He's the guy with the long hair.

Jason Ard has been re-elected to a third term as Livingston Parish sheriff after a group of 12 current employees filed a civil lawsuit to disqualify Ard's only opponent. Walter Ray "Beau 22" Wesley, an Independent from Watson, was disqualified by a 21st Judicial District court judge last week for failing to pay taxes over the last five years.

If he didn't pay his taxes for 5 years why didn't they sell his property

A series of exhibits filed in the civil case against Wesley show the group filed a public records request with the Louisiana Department of Revenue to find individual income tax returns for Wesley, but a records custodian responded on Aug. 12 saying that income tax returns for years 2014 through 2018 could not be confirmed.

yeah, agreed. He had to have known he was behind. Sucks he was Ards only opponent. I never like to see public officials get in un opposed. Especially in the LP where the GOBN is in full effect.

Dude stands at the end of his driveway on LA 1019 (Thunderbird Beach Rd.) right by Hunstock Rd. and waves at people in the morning. People jam on their brakes because they think he is waving them down. Dude's a nutjob.

I know, I see him all the time. I do think he's a nuttjob myself.

Have you seen his signs he makes from time to time?

Yeah, he's definitely half a bubble off. Some dude in a diesel rolled coal as he passed him the other day, he never even stopped waving. It was a huge thick cloud of black smoke too, your boy totally disappeared.

Said that in my OP. Have heard nothing but good things about him. He's supposedly a great carpenter. Needs to get them taxes in order.

Well, since the property is sold at a SHERIFF'S sale, I'd say that it going to happen somewhat soon.

ETA: Nevermind. It's income tax that he's apparently behind on. Wouldn't surprise me if property taxes were delinquent too, though.

they don't want his place. Parish would lose money on the deal if they took it.

That’s a good life lesson. The only true way to be free is to be poor.

I don't have a problem with the guy getting disqualified but it's a bit of an eyebrow raiser that deputies are doing political bidding.

It always seemed odd to me when EBR deputies were encouraged to put political signs up for the sheriff or even their boss's brother when he runs for state senate.

Some of the things they did to an opponent and his son by digging up sealed juvi records were pretty crappy.

sounds like the employees like their boss. I have yet to hear anything negative about Ard. I'd assume he must be well liked cause no viable challenger stepped up to run against Ard.
