Did Biden or Harris implement the Trumpflation tariffs?
Do you even know what the word absolute means? Because most liberals stray far away from that word

Ding Ding Ding! All they import that is tariffed are raw beans. There COGS goes up 2%, yours goes up 20%

We only buy Community Coffee. The prices have been increasing for the last couple of years, before tariffs.
They have about priced me out of drinking it. $18.49 for the big bag now.

The new tariffs on coffee are 10%, so if coffee producers want to keep their same profit margin, then yes, consumer prices may go up by 20%.

I'd second the Cafe Bustelo, very reasonably priced and has a bolder taste than Community.
I was in Walmart yesterday, looking for espresso. I checked out Bustelo (both in the round container and the compressed brick), along with Community and Starbuck's espresso, and found that Starbucks was a bit cheaper per ounce.
They were all in the 69¢ to 72¢ range per ounce,
Perhaps I'm wrong, but I assumed the Community would have been more freshly ground.

No tariff has been applied...these are just greedy CEO jacking dumb LA folks while they can

Grounds & Hounds coffee is good. At Christmas I buy the peppermint mocha and throughout the year I’ll buy one occasionally direct from the company. I like that they donate to rescues. There’s also a company who puts it out for cat rescues, Kitty Town Coffee. And lifeboost coffee is good.

Community screwed up when they discontinued their private reserve.
Agreed. Dunkin Donuts for the win…$19.59 for 45 ozs / 150 cups at Costco

My grocer told me it's because Community got bought by somebody and they jacked up prices
Now ask yourself…
If you were entity that bought CC, invested $ into acquisition, some equity and some debt…
Why would 1st move be high risk move of jacking up prices by multiple that risks losing customer base and negative impact to gross margin?
Makes nil sense.

Increased coffee bean prices have nothing to do with tariffs. They’ve been rising for the last 6 months.
the near-futures coffee prices (green, unroasted beans) on the ICE exchange (a.k.a. the “C price”) was sitting at an all-time high of around US $4.03 per pound. (date of chart 2/7/25)
back in 2021 (covid) I dabbled in home roasting and was paying $1.05 per pound for green beans. Current prices range from $7.50 to $9.50 per pound before shipping. 10 lbs. of green beans shipped is right at $100

I talked to the Chairman of the Board of CC a few weeks ago and he discussed this very thing. Coffee prices have gone through the roof. They do not source their beans from the US, so they are subject to tariffs, but I don’t think that’s the major reason for the increase. CC is doing the right thing and cutting profit margins to try to limit this.
Same is true of chocolate, BTW. Prices going through the roof before tariffs.

So yes, tarrifs, or at least they're taking advantage of the tarrif situation and using it as cover to raise prices, like during covid.
Definitely not.

CC retail shelf price nearly doubled in price when tariffs were announced. With own eyes seen at Winn Dixie and Costco.
That’s true of Costco. But at WalMart it was not nearly so much. So the common denominator is not CC.

It makes even less sense because CC was not sold.

2 32oz bags are $15ish on Amazon with subscribe and save.
It's only jacked up locally, they are competitive in other markets. Basically, they charge more because they can, not because they need to.
