It's good to know you can find them if they're late or not where they're supposed to be. Some people use it to track every move, but we never did.
And before the boomers pop off, if the technology had been available when you were parenting, you would have used it too.

As with anything, it’s all about how you use it.
It can be a good tool if your kid is just starting to drive and going out with friends.
On the flipside, it can be an absolute nightmare when it’s a parent who has a control issues. When I was working in a HS, I had a parent who absolutely lost her mind when her kid went out of the set perimeter during the school day on the app. She showed up at the school, demanding we find her kid, just really unhinged. Turned out Mom had forgotten her kid had a field trip that day.

I got it really like it. My oldest daughter went off to college. She was on her way home about 3 hours away, had a flat. Contacted life 360 they sent someone out to change her tire.

i look on life360 and it shows he is in a field in the middle of no where...i'm concerned he has crashed -- get there and he had been mudding and got stuck -- they had been trying to get him out for 2 hours -- ended up paying 300 buck for a tow truck to get him out of there....he didn't drive the range rover again for a long time
Previously they would have eventually figured it out and given the Range Rover the detail of its life. Then there would be a great story, and in 20 years you might hear about it!
i would have been called out there anyway, land owner had shown up 20 minutes before i got there and ran the kids off...there had been 4 trucks out there destroying his field - range rover was heavier and had slicks, that is why they couldn't get it out

Depends.. told my kids I’ll only have find my iPhone and I only use when I’m trying to see when someone will be home. They know if they break the implicit trust then other measures would be used. Maybe even 360.. oldest is now in college so that one is a moot point.. only chk his if he’s driving home from college to gauge time

Wife and I both agree it’s helicopter parenting and don’t use it for our kids.

Never heard of it other than here. Granted, I don’t have kids.

ITT: a bunch of people who likely bitch about how the world has gone soft talking about how they need to track their kid’s whereabouts 24/7 to make sure little johnny and sally never get into trouble.

My son had it when he got his license so it was useful to see how he was driving.
Example A....I let him use my old BMW Z4 to take a girl out on a date. He hadn't had a ton of experience on the interstates so I decided to check in on Life360 to see how it was going.
Life360 shows you the speed of the user. This motherfricker was hitting 110-115MPH on fricking I-75 in Metro ATL. Again, he'd had very little interstate experience. Called him, gave him hell about speeding, and may have saved him a wreck.
Worth it.

I'll probably do it to my kids but I hate it honestly. The peace of mind is worth it but good god, let teenage boys be boys. Let them lie and get into shite.
If I got my arse smoked the first time I snuck out I would have never done it again and my teenage years wouldn't have been nearly as fun.
Yeah I would have been more safe but I don't want a safe cushy boring life for my son. I want him to get into some shite every now and then. Those are the times you remember and cherish

Its what i have used as a threat before with my kids. I would never truly consider it unless there was an ongoing issue though
What happened to the good old” I’ll send your arse to military school” threat, it worked for my arse.

I like it, more for the fact that they keep their phones on do not disturb and never ever answer it. It is nice to just check in and kinda know whats going on.

I like it, not perfect but seems to be the best app for this purpose that I've found. Biggest gripe is that sometimes it needs to be stopped and restarted to update locations.
A buddy of mine put it on both his sons phones when they started driving and told them that disabling the app or GPS would be automatic terms for grounding. I plan to do same when daughter starts driving.

It's good for kids, and its good when you have a psychotic wife who always accuses you of creeping, even though hers is always turned off because "I don't want it to run my battery down."
