As a single father working construction with 3 kids all under 14 at the time. I was working 10-12 hours days.....The benefits were unmatched.

It allowed me to know if they'd left for school and when they got home. Where they were at any given moment. I didn't have to rely on anyone else.

My daughter had no choice.
She never minded it.
The best safety feature we can use as parents. Kinda dumb not to use it actually. We still use it and she’s in College now.
We have the crash notification feature.

My boys are on the lake a lot, and that's usually the only time I check it. Make sure they are safe if weather is approaching.

And if they get on some big fish and lie about where they were.

Same for me, I have it on my boys and rarely use it unless they are in the woods or water hunting/fishing. Those dark, freezing early morning duck hunts in boats I just like to know they're ok.

I have 15 and 17 year old boys and would never consider using it. It's fricking weird as shite and everyone who uses it is the definition of a helicopter parent. There's no debating it. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

I did have the dad of one my son's girlfriends call me up once and ask why his daughter was in my house when he knew I was out of town.

My wife and kids have it. I don't want them knowing where I'm at so I don't participate.

This is bizarre to me. Why do you not want your family knowing where you are?

It's bizarre that anyone would want everyone to know where they are at all times.

it is bizarre to me that a grown man w wife and kids gives a damn about people knowing where he is.

Why do you need an app for that?

why do I not? So it’s the tool that is offensive, not the functionality?

That's psycho behavior. I addressed that in my first post.

There is a vast middle ground between "at all times" and "I don't want them knowing where I'm at"

I told him I was out of town so I had no idea why his 16 year old daughter was in a house all alone with a 16 year old boy.

Then I called my son and told him to stop being a dumbass and when I got home I took the house key from him.

I use it for my teenagers that drive to school and work. Just to know that they’ve reached their destination okay, especially on foggy/rainy days and with so many crazy a-hole drivers on the road.

It's both. If my SO wants to know where I'm at she can just ask.

What exactly are you going to do if they don't show up at the appointed place at the appointed time?
