What’s the worst thing you’ve ever smelled in your life?

I would have to say food that had been rotting in the refrigerator/freezer for over a week after Hurricane Gustave. Absolutely putrid. The blood from some of the thawed out, rotting meat was leaking out of the freezer and onto the floor when I got back. It was horrible burying all of that stuff.

An ice chest that I forgot had fish carcasses in. Probably sat a few weeks in the heat. Needless to say it got trashed!

buddy of mine dumped about 20 chicken thighs and 2 sacks of crawfish hulls in his garbage can before he went offshore 2 weeks later I went to cut his grass for him and kept smelling something while I was mowing. Then a neighbor cane over and asked if he had any pets that might have died because they keep smelling something horrible. We got to looking around and when I opened the cracked lid of the garbage the whole can was crawling with maggots

Rotten cheese used for Catfish trap bait. Used to almost toss my cookies every time the lid was popped off the top of the barrel.

I tried Nursing school and had to give an old man an enema in an 85 degree room in a nursing home. I ran out of the room gagging. I quit nursing school a week later.

A friend of mine found a dead raccoon one time and wanted to strip the flesh from it to get the bones and make a little skeleton display. He soaked it in a pot for weeks outside in the backyard and told me to smell it one time when I was at his house. I gag just thinking about it and that was about 10 years ago.
