Dushanbe, Tajikistan

I’d venture to say most people don’t know much about the nuances of Tajikistan. Eerie place that’s for sure.
I’ve worked in 32 foreign countries and Dushanbe is the only place I told my Washington, DC handlers, “Don’t even think about sending me back there.”

had a deposition in Light-My-Fart, South Georgia. The guy running for sheriff shared my last name which was embarrassing. Went to a Mexican restaurant and they served us wine margaritas.

Total s-hole. And the car dealership owner we deposed was a total criminal.

Baw I gotta ask, have you ever been to Almaty Kazakhstan? Saw a few youtube videos about it the other day and it looks actually really nice, so now I’m wondering if I should visit.

Any insight?

Salem, Oregon. Worst state capital in the country and I live in the Jackson metro area and went to grad school at LSU.

Jersey City wasn’t great, but at least Manhattan was a few minutes away.

Groton, CT, again not great. Couple Indian casinos within short driving distance.

Addison, TX had no redeeming qualities.

Ditto Duluth, GA and that came with an hour and a half commute morning and night.

Fun fact ESL has a mean HS Football program. Regularly win state in IL and compete with the big dogs in Chicago. Took IMG to the brink this year.

East St. Louis. I was loading barges for export, I had 12 to load, if all went OK, it took about 16 hours per barge, no after hour work was allowed, no more than 12 hours loading time per day. I broke records to get out of the damn place. I collected 2 bullet holes in my rental car, that got my boss's attention, the next loading I got a personal guard.

Yes, about a dozen assignments there, each one two or three weeks.

Tunneling under army barracks and hand shoveled mud that had seeped underneath after a big rain with temps in the upper 90's with a 5 gal bucket.
