It was nice back then. I haven’t been back. I just know folks in the rescue world and have seen the horrors of Caddo Parish Animal Control and its garbage director. And the citizens there who cause this. So it leads me to believe it’s not what it once was there.

This isn’t a worst and I don’t know if it is true. An acquaintance told me many years ago he was a wild man. He and a few buddies went down to Costa Rica for a fishing trip.
The first day they go out fishing. They all brought bags and over the course of the day they would change clothes multiple times and take more pictures. They had “proof” that they were fishing multiple days.
After the first day fishing they spent the rest of the trip doing drugs and banging hookers.
I don’t think any of them were ever caught?

You can fish and do drugs and bang hookers in the same day.

My aunt's ex-husband, and father to several of my cousins, had two families in New Orleans. For like a decade, and no one knew. It wasn't some big reveal of cheating and he didn't get "caught", he just requested a divorce and all of this was found out later.
He was super nice and successful. Now he has abandoned my cousins for his other family entirely.
You just never know with people.

My personal theory is that the personality profile of someone who seeks out a risky lifestyle such as a soldier, firefighter, or police officer overlaps with the lack of frontal lobe self control needed to avoid sleeping around. JMO because both putting yourself in danger and risking your marriage seem like adrenaline or excitement seeking decisions at the expense of self preservation.

Haha I don’t know why but I didn’t think of this. I guess they didn’t really want to fish and could spend the charter money on hookers and blow.

The stories about teachers often do seem like they wanted to be caught. Hell, an adult expecting any teenager to keep a sex secret seems like the definition of foolish decision making.
I don't think behavior like cheating is going to be something explained by a single variable. The doing something stupid for excitement seems like a description of the problem as much as an explanation

Mine. Turned to be the best day of my life after the year of absolute depression, grief, and tears until I found the love of my life.
It was before the OT and better health, so no therapy other than a handle of jack, vitamin C, and the best pup(Weimar). God I miss that dog.

A guy I work with pulled this move out one day. He was the shop foreman at the time and the secretary came out on the floor and asked him of he would drive her 5 mins down the road to get her car from the shop where it was having some work done. His response was just a straight up "no." She was pretty good looking and the shock on her face at being told no was so good. You could tell it happened rarely, if ever.
I asked him why he wouldn't later in the day and his response was "what if one of my wife's friends or someone from church happened to pull up next to me at a redlight with her in my passenger seat?" I was still pretty young and had never thought of it from that POV. He was probably right as she has a huge reputation. She has kids from two different guys. The guys also happen to be brothers.

My FiL was a vet. He told me about a farmer who went to town but realized he had forgotten something and returned to his farm. He caught his wife screwing his father. He got his shotgun and killed both of them, then killed himaelf.

I lived this life. Would go fishing, ride 4 wheelers and zip line. Still had plenty of time to bang hookers all afternoon and night.
Only thing I can imagine is they didn’t want to get up that early for the fishing trip every morning.
