What’s the vibe like at a truck stop casino?

I was walking through the shop/warehouse of where I work and I got to talking with once of the shop hands. He was joking around that all he wanted to do next week was take the week off, get a nice big rock and go on a bender hanging out at one of the truck stop casinos just across the bridge.. now, I’m sure he was joking but it got me thinking what really goes on at one of those places? Do they serve liquor? What are the people like? Does anyone here frequent those kind of places and could maybe shed some light?

TIA

Hard to visualize something so foreign.. I’d imagine it’s filled with some rough characters with the charm of a Chuck E. Cheese

That's oddly specific for a joke

I've been to the one in Port Allen before. They serve complimentary beer and wine. It's a pretty sad looking crowd. I'm guessing most of the people in there were regulars. Little old ladies slamming back red zinfandel's and Winston Kings.

Depends on what you're in the market for, my friend. Looking for a gloryhole? They don't get much better.

Truck stop casinos are where people go with the dream of winning $1000 but end up losing $400 and get $30 of "free" drinks.

I used the bathroom at one Sunday on the way back from Fayetteville. The kids and gf all said I smelled like smoke when I got in the car. That shite permeates the entire store/restauarnt/etc from the closed off casino area.

I used to have a deer lease near one. They had a good breakfast in the cafe next door.

If I was down there by myself, sometimes after breakfast I would go play $20-$40 and drink a few complimentary beers about 11 am before heading back to the camp.

Everyone else there were losers though.

Depressed closet ghey truckers. You'd love it. Easy pickins.
