Paid $76 round trip non stop for a flight from NOLA to Pittsburgh. At that cost I'm expecting a shite show the whole way through. I've flown spirit before and it wasn't so bad. Anybody have any Allegiant horror stories?

Experts who reviewed Allegiant mechanical records at the Times’ request said improvements are needed. They said the records show Allegiant missed routine inspections. They said they found documentation that engines were fixed and then broke down again weeks later. They said the company appeared to allow minor problems to linger until they became major malfunctions. “Allegiant is probably going to have an accident,” said former FAA inspector Richard Wyeroski, who became a whistleblower in 2002. “That airline should basically be grounded and re-evaluated for their certificate.”

But sure to start an OT thread while you are plummeting to the earth! The OT baws will tell you how to fix the plane before impact.

Not at all. Allegiant actually has a pretty experience pilot group. A lot of pilots love working there because they do mostly day trips only so you sleep in your own bed every night versus a traditional airline where you spend 15 nights a month in a hotel.

Also when you fly any major airline domestically, the pilots that are flying the regional jets (76 seats or less) are the ones looking to gain experience and move up the major carriers. So I’d be far more worried about allegiants maintenance practices then their pilots, but I think they’ve made strides in that department.

No they won't. They'll say they would've had their personal traveling mechanics fix the issue mid plumet.

I fly allegiant now whenever I can. It's no frills, but I love direct flights more than frills.

Isn't that the one that uses refurbished Soviet Tupolev Tu-104's?

No they won’t. They’ll call you trashy for crashing and tell you they’ve seen better plane crashes in the quad

They are slowly moving to an all Airbus fleet. I guess they are getting a good deal on them used.

Flew them to New orleans a couple times. Not bad really. Pay for any check bags, priority seating, think you even pay more or less depending on where you want your seat to be (which is awesome). Planes were nice enough.

Sounds like you better stop by the COA on your way to the airport to make sure everything with your will is up to date.

Not much separates the best and worst airlines. No matter who you choose it will be a shitty multiple hour trip unless you are flying first or business class overseas.
