Okay, so, I just read some of the other posts in here...and, uh, yeah...

I'd say I had it the worst.

not to me directly but witnessed a drive by from start to finish. Guy got gunned down in front of his 4 year old daughter.

He died holding my sister's hand and me trying to stop the bleeding.

JFC.

Can't beat that.

I did have a close friend die at age 16 - that kind sucked - but it was really much more of a traumatic event for him.

My dad gave me a bad arse whoppin' once. (I had it coming)

No, sorry, she didn't die. Didn't mean to lead on like that. She lives. She suffered severe brain damage and has seizures. She won't ever talk or walk again but she lives.

This thread is terrible. I've had nothing in my life that comes close to anything in this thread. Car wreck once spent 3 days in ICU but was never close dying and is small potatoes to this stuff. I'm gonna say a prayer thanking God for blessed life and to help all you through these things.

Well I have nothing on half the shite in this thread. Lends perspective and makes me want to be less of a dick. Godspeed to all of you who have truly suffered.

Well I work for a fire dept that runs ambulance also. I've seen it all, burned alive trapped in car, kids run over and everything you can imagine. They are all bad but I witnessed a lady shoot herself after we opened door to go in house. She called 911 for chest pain but was schizophrenic. She died and it scarred my partner, you can say scarred me also.

I just thought of someone who could have beaten that.

My grandpa was run over by a tractor and spent months in the hospital. He was also struck by lightening, hit by shrapnel, and survived a pulmonary embolism (in separate events).

He finally passed away of being too old this past summer.

Well, he was pretty much right, but in the very least this experience showed you that the man truly loved you. That's more than many people can say.

And sweet Christ, this thread is depressing.

when I think about the unborn child we lost, I like to think I will still meet my child in heaven, makes me happy/sad

don't know if I could bear to think about a child I had actually held in my arms,, truthfully I don't think I could survive something like that so for those that have

I thought of something more traumatic than the things I mentioned earlier.

My mom came and stayed with us two Christmass's ago.

Had to call my best friends parents to tell them their only child had a serious injury and they needed to get to the hospital ASAP. He was in a coma by the time they got there and didn't survive.

I'm sorry that happened to you Owlie.

Even my event, I'm pretty confident it traumatized my parents and best friend more than it did me. It sucked, but the moment I woke up and could could backwards from 20 they knew I would be ok. My parents thought I was brain damaged in the very least for sure, but my best friend who saw it happen was missing until 11:00 that evening, when he just went to our secret fort in the woods before his dad found him.
