What’s the most money you’ve found on the ground?

$350.

A $100 bill.

I found a $5 Bill in a bush in Florida in 1972 at age 11.

$20, guess I’m not that lucky.

When I was 18 (30 years ago), I found a wallet on the ground outside the neighborhood grocery. It was yellow canvas with Velcro. I picked it up and walked it in to the grocery and talked to the old man that owned the place (he was working the cash register).

He opened the wallet and knew the owner. He called him and gave him the good news. I heard him ask if his money was still inside. Gus (owner) opened it and pulled out $800+ Gus thanked me for the owner and gave me a Coke. I left with mixed emotions.

When I was a lifeguard at the Bayou Segnette wave pool we’d always put the mask on and go diving under the people on crowded sundays. If there were obvious drug dealers in the pool we’d swim around them.

One time I found 3 one hundred dollar bills. This was when I was making 4.75 an hour in 1996.

Found a 20 walking back to my truck after class at LSU. Picked it up, put it in my pocket. When I got back to my truck, the 20 was gone. It had fallen out of my pocket on the walk. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions.

I found a money clip with $1,800 in it once in Orange Beach. Had an ID too though. Was at hotel pool and we were staying at same hotel. Brought it to front desk to confirm he was guest and they wanted to bring it to him. We talked them into giving us the room number. He answered door and I could tell he was pretty drunk. Gave me $100, so I guess $100 is most I’ve ever found on ground.

$117 once in the parking lot at Ray's Pee-Gee in Monroe. Just a wad of bills laying on the ground.
