What's the longest you've gone without eating?

Not time between actual meals-- any food into your system non-liquid. I honestly don't think it's ever been more than 18 hours for me in my entire life. America really has it great.

For consistency, don't count sometime you had the flu or a stomach bug and just couldn't get anything down.

75 hours. Once you get past 36 hrs it’s not too bad.

I've gone 24 hours many times out in the oil field. Don't really ever recall going longer than that

I went probably 7 or 8 days without eating anything when I had covid but that doesn't count

Did a 40-day clear-liquid-only fast once. Interesting experience.

4 days. It’s not what people think. Yes you get hungry whenever you typically eat, but it goes away after 20-30 minutes. I think most that try to fast get their first hunger pains and think they’ll have to endure that throughout. It’s really not that hard.

Wild duration. Religious or health reasons?

One week fast. After a couple of days your body just accepts it, and it wasn’t a big deal after that.

I regularly will skip Breakfast and Lunch so going 20 hours or more without eating is not a problem for me.

A nice byproduct of exercise and diet control is whenever I want to binge, I can eat any amount of any foods I want and then run it off and not eat for the next day too.

Can’t finish your crème brûlée? I’ll have it, thanks.

Edit: non sick

24 hours is not totally atypical. Sometimes I’m just not hungry again till dinner

My wife was watching one of those shows where obese people are trying to qualify for gastric surgery and one of the people was complaining that the doctor was trying to starve them to death. I told my wife that dude could go a year without food and not starve. Turns out I was right.

There was a guy called Angus Barbieri from Scotland in the 1960’s who went 382 days without eating.

The story of Angus Barbieri
