Baton Rouge to Alexandria, VA. It’s just outside of DC.

I honestly don’t remember how long it was. Just that I slept for almost 20 hours when I got there.

14 hours

Had a med school interview in Charleston on Friday 7am.

Had my last final 8am Thursday. I had been cramming and not sleeping all week. I woke up at 11am Thursday. Begged prof to let me take the final late (another section was taking it at 3pm).

Took it. Hit the road. Drove all night (after still not being silly rested from all the cramming). No sleep. Med school interview. Drove to my parents in Columbia. And slept for like 30 hours.

Drove to Key West during fires in FL that were shutting down interstates, so we took US-27 most of the way. Put some gas cans in the truck to be sure we'd make it.

So, you drove through wildfires with a pickup truck loaded with gasoline cans?

I've done Cleveland OH to NOLA (1000 miles), 15-16 hours, non stop, many times in my younger days. Of course we did have road trip accoutrements as support.

Houston to Atlanta to deliver a suitcase for an elderly Mexican couple. Something about a friend needed it and didn’t trust couriers. Paid well but it was tough.

Longest without sleeping was Bakersfield to LA to Fort Stockton. Left Bakersfield late in the day after loading up my apartment in a uhaul trailer, drove across the desert all night, and ate a whataburger in Tuscon. Figured I better stop in Fort Stockton before the sun set on me twice.

Longest without stopping at all? Probably San Antonio to Loving, NM.

Almost 30 years ago, San Antonio to outside of Los Angeles 19 hours. Guy that worked for me drove 5 hours to around Stockton, I took over and drove last 8 hours to Burns Oregon. Around 2200 miles in 32 straight hours. This was in a 1 ton dulley with no a/c

Green Bay to Baton Rouge the day after LSU/Wisconsin game in 2016. Took almost 18 hours. My son was with me. He just played video games and eventually fell asleep. Next longest drive was last year. Drove from a small town in Nebraska to Baton Rouge in a Uhaul truck. That was 16 hours.

24 hrs, 30 minutes. Dickinson, North Dakota to Monroe, La. I was 18 and I almost fell asleep passing through Arkansas as the sun was coming up. Wouldn’t try it again!

I routinely drove 9 hours from Statesboro, GA to New Orleans without stopping once in my Hyundai Sonata.
