My 5th grade Science teacher asked if there was anywhere on earth that was below sea level and not underwater. I answered New Orleans. She laughed out loud and explained to me that if a point on earth is below sea level, that means it is under the sea and is covered with water.
This was in the early 80's, well before any type of hurricane coverage that constantly reminded us that NOLA is below sea level. And this was in Lafayette.

My fourth grade teacher used to swear it was Chicargo.
I had another teacher that began banging a friend of mine 6 months after he graduated. She taught him how to chop it fine and spread lines.
We later found out she was a well known coke whore on the local bar circuit. She was also a former Golden Girl.

Me: "Uhhh...they don't. They come up for air."

Me: "What's the blowhole for, then?"
Her: "I'll find out and get back to ya."
Me: "Yeah, please do."
Her Bio MS was from Southern, naturally.

Had a college professor from South Korea, fresh into the US say "Rine A dickenperpular to Rine B." Although that statement was factually correct it was too much to handle.

in high school back in the 90's, one of my football coaches who taught American History asked who the first American in space was ?
I raised my hand and answered Alan Shepard
He said I was wrong, that it was John Glenn.
I said no, John Glenn was the first American to orbit the earth, but not first in space.
He argued with me for 10 minutes and said that whoever was right was owed a coke after football practice.
We opened our textbooks and found a picture of Alan Shepard - first American in space.
He said he owed me a coke and was happy that I had read the textbook chapter before class.
Little did he know that I only knew that because I had seen the movie "The Right Stuff" like 50 times since I was a kid and distinctly remember Scott Glenn playing Alan Shepard as the first American in space....dumb arse coach!
as a side note, on the final exam the question came up "Who was the first American in space?"
A.) Alan Shepard

D.) my name

My first grade teacher in the EBR public school system taught our class that "kinda" was indeed a legitimate word in the English language (e.g. "What is the weather like today class? Is it kinda cloudy?").

Another one. 11th grade. A few teachers had finished all material early and were letting the kids goof off for the last week. This led to hijinks, so the bitch principal mandated a final exam be held in every class.
So we had a written P.E. exam. It was joke stuff like "Name three NBA teams" and "How many innings are in a baseball game?"
One asked: What is the offishull length of a football field?
I thought to myself that the fellow who wrote that had managed to earn a college degree, so I would probably be able to do the same.
