I view weed like a lot of people view Xanax. I smoke in the AM too, often during the day and night. I’m highly productive, get paid very well, and father 2 kids that are often paid behavioral compliments. I hardly drink at all.

I guarantee people talk behind your back about how your house, car, clothes, and probably children reek of weed. Just FYI

Maybe 10 years ago. Nowadays no one really cares but old white conservatives. The stigma is gone, especially in states with recreational use.

I didn’t say they cared, but they 100% notice

lol. I don’t live around a bunch of yocals and slackjaws bruh. My kids go to a private school and I’m in there with them frequently. They are well liked, always invited to social events, and they don’t smell like weed as I don’t smoke weed inside. Nobody cares about weed where I live except really old people and zealots, usually alcoholics—many partake.

Except benzodiazepine withdrawals are arguably the worst out there, even worse than most hard street drugs. Some REAL fricked up shite.

I had some very bad withdrawals when I dropped weed. It was a month of really bad sleep. Lots of vivid savage nightmares.

Well, you can just straight up die from benzo withdrawal. At minimum you'll get some combination of brain zaps, horrible stomach issues and nausea often then followed by bouts of severe constipation, constant chills and sweating, headaches, extreme anxiety with panic attacks, depression (suicidal thoughts common), muscles spasms and feeling of electricity in your extremities, insomnia for weeks, etc. Also causes personality changes where you can't control outbursts.

And it lasts a long time. Some people are never the same. You really shouldn't be taking benzos regularly. Getting off of them is a true nightmare.

ETA:

Your description of heavy weed use withdrawals are common for very frequent smokers/users, but they're temporary and truly not close to drugs or alcohol. I've seen a close family member go through benzo withdrawal and been to doctor with them, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. They were holed up in the house for weeks basically shaking on the couch.

Oh I wasn’t saying it is worse, but rather sharing my experience. Abrupt cessation from heavy thc use requires some willpower.

For sure.

Mild sedatives to get you through the night and force yourself to catch up on sleep is extremely helpful in getting through it. Sleep disruption is the biggest issue for most people who used it heavily for years then cold turkey quit.

All day? Nah. Can't function like that. At all.

After a long day of functioning and need to wind down? Sure, why not?

Well, at least you didn't say "flower", but you got that "partake" in there, otherwise we"d have to revoke your pothead license.

Flower is a faux pas now? The dispensaries I go to say it, my old pot dealers used to say it, my hippy friends that grow it say it.

It's not addictive in the way that alcohol or opiates are but it's still addictive especially to a certain brain. I have ADHD but have discontinued use of the amphetamine meds to treat it... it's been a huge adjustment to live life without ADHD meds but one I needed to make because of other health issues (mainly insomnia) that said my brain is LOUD and non-stop. THC quiets it... always has. In grad school I was a wake and baker..it brought me to baseline I felt like.... but I got to a point where id get nervous not having it cause it was my new baseline. That said my then gf now wife hated it so when we decided to move I decided to stop and not seek a new plug... when it became medically legal I didn't pursue it. I have refound it in the form of THC seltzer and such but limit that to weekends after the kid is in bed and the house is quiet. It's quite literally an off switch for the annoying parts my neurology.

I use a very small bit in the evening to help me wind-down for the night and help me sleep.

For years I’d have very vivid stress dreams which seriously impacted my sleep. Tried all types of over the counter medication and even some prescription medication. Couldn’t get it settled. Still waking up in the middle of the night in a panic, sweating and elevated heart rate.

Started using a single one hitter before bed and it’s pretty much solved it.

I too have ADHD and it's the safest/best way for me to shut off the brain at night after the kids are down. I don't get "college stoned" anymore either, just a little does the trick. My PCP has told me in gummy or edible/drinkable form in moderation on weeknights is completely fine and better than taking any pharmaceuticals/drinking alcohol.

I do have a vape pen and he hates that I use that. Nothing in the lungs is his rule and it's a good rule, I just don't follow it

They are addicted losers.
No judgement against people who bake occasionally for release though.
I wish I could try one of those CBD seltzers. I don’t drink or smoke and need something to take the edge off.
