Back in HS, was walking along the road over a short bridge, looked down and saw a snub nosed S&W .38 pistol, black pachmyer finger grips, in good shape. Had a family friend cop check it and there wasn’t anything on it in the system.

We live on a hilltop near a major crossing of the Holston RIver.

I find lots of rough stones that would be used for scraping deer hides, several broken 'rollers; that would have been used for grinding corn and one beautifully smooth tomahawk head made from a rock that isn't from these parts.

My aunt/uncle own an old home built in late 1800s near Baton Rouge. As a kid, we kept finding tons of old colorful glass shards in the ground after my uncle would run his tractor. Turns out, a doctor in early 1900s owned the house and we started digging up his old trash pile including tons and tons of antique medicine bottles, pottery, two man saws, horse plows, etc. This excited every fiber of my being as kid who loved archeology and anthropology.

I found a big show box of arrowheads, spear tips, battle axes and a corn grinder when I was a child. Probably has about 3-4 dozen complete arrowheads

I was helping a buddy clean out his dad's old garage once. He had a container labeled "shop rags." It was full of late 70s and early 80s Mid South Wrestling t shirts. He had shirts from Junkyard Dog, Col. Buck Robley, the Rock n Roll Express and a bunch more in all sizes. His dad had got them from the guy who ran the shows in Houma, and would cut them up when he needed a rag.

My buddy gave me the a Junkyard Dog shirt, and he sold the rest to a private collector for a very big payday.

US Calvary brass pieces that must have gone on 1800's horse bridles or saddlebags.
Dad plowed our pastures on our home place when I was a kid and we used to find them occasionally until the Bermuda grass started growing.

When I was about 11 or 12 my next door neighbor's nephew (who was in his early 20s) moved out. He rode BMX and had a shite ton of magazines in their garage that he no longer wanted. I had just started doing BMX so they told me I could come over and take whatever magazines I wanted. As I was going though one of the boxes I found some hidden Hustler and Penthouse magazines down at the bottom. It was like finding the Holy Grail.

Found a diamond tennis bracelet on the driving range at UClub. It was broken into two strands. I thought it was fake but decided to get it checked out.

It was real. I did call UClub and no one reported it lost or missing.

Jeweler gave me $8,000 credit for it and I used that to add stuff to Mrs. Barrister's collection.

I bought an antique valet in old ponchatoula store. Got it home and found a letter behind a small drawer from a civil war soldier to his mother. Incredibly well written by what sounded like an officer .

I relic hunt a lot, I have some valuable coins and military buttons I've unearthed. One Texas button will bring about 2 grand. I dug a rare dime that's about 2500.

A mastadon hip bone. In a stream near Tangipoha. On a HS biology field trip.

A nice chunk of cash lost by a Florida WR coach the night befoe an LSU game in Gainesville. He had an ID card in the envelope too. I returned it, but was able to rub in their loss to us. UF sent a football signed by their key players and coaches, including Zook who was fired very shortly after.

When I worked in radio we were changing formats.
Some genius (Chuck Redden) decided to throw away all of our CDs as part of the format change.

I managed to spare them and they were great recordings. Some were special promo mixes that aren’t available anywhere else.

A cannon ball near port Hudson in perfect shape once cleaned up. Down around 10” deep. When you first touch something you find that hasn’t seen the light of day in ages it’s pretty cool. Sitting there realizing the last time this was seen someone loaded it into cannon and fired it across a battlefield.

Why cause he bought shite at a garage sale. We talking about finding stuff.

I found a Odyssey #5 at goodwill with plastic and tags still on it. Paid $2.99.

Does that count
