I found a large piece (6" x 6" x 4") of petrified wood in the dirt for the foundation of a house in Pass Christian, of all places. IDK how it got there.
I’ve come across some pretty cool fossils while visiting sites like mines and quarries over the years. They dig up cool stuff quite often. Once at a coal mine I saw what appeared to be a perfectly preserved log about as big around as my forearm and about 3’ to 4’ long embedded in a huge boulder. When I first saw it, I thought it might be a dinosaur bone. But then when I looked closer, you could see the texture of the bark of a tree. I had a picture of it for a long time but can’t find it now.

There was a massive mine (worlds largest gold mine at the time) that operated from 1880-1918 on the beach across the channel. The town that supported it was the largest in Alaska.
The tide exposes old artifacts on the beach, old jewelry, cups, dishes, etc. I have some old stuff I have found there that is fascinating.

Went to the Florida Keys after a hurricane a few years ago and found a few giant Horse Conch shells. If you haven’t seen these google it. The biggest one I found was over a foot long

Not me, but my ex-GF back in the early 2000's on her way in to the mall entrance, a paper bag next to the bushes caught her attention since part of it was torn off. Inside was $1000 in cash in 20 dollar bills. Very odd, I told her most likely it was drug money.

My sister in-law parents live on a nice piece of land in Munster, TX. Behind their house before the lake is a limestone outcropping. It is filled with prehistoric fossils. Tons on nautilus fossils. So many my sister in-law's mom borders her flower beds with them.

Golf ball size bag of cocaine hidden in wall socket that the previous home owner had apparently spaced out and forget where he hid it.
