I love them all dearly, but this brief arrangement was like living on another level, with the weight of a million responsibilities lifted from my shoulders.

Woke up on an early March morning in the Ozarks... crawled out of my tent to see a doe and 3 fawns about 100 feet away from my tent... I was all alone at the edge of a clearing, and sat down in my chair, next to a burnt out fire from the night before... I slowly gathered some wood, started a new fire to cook breakfast, and sat back and watched the deer... it was a calm, quiet, and still morning and I felt like every single problem or worry in my life had disappeared
All the problems and bullshite that I had invented for myself back in society no longer mattered... Watching those deer look for food, totally comfortable with me being there, and in the middle of nowhere, did something to me... that place in time did something for me
To me it felt like home... a place free of worry, a place free of problems, and a place free of care... It was a place where some thing came through, some thing shined through... A place where I could leave all the bullshite behind and not give a damn about all the stuff I have to deal with when I leave there... And I had the overwhelming feeling of complete freedom, complete happiness, and complete contentment... I will never forget it
I sincerely hope everyone finds a place and a moment like that at least once in their life... no drug or drink could ever come close to that

Yes. A guide that was awesome.

The day I retired. I received a call from upstairs while I was out working and was informed I would receive a buyout plus voluntary severance I had asked for plus my retirement if I would except it. The first thing I said was if he was shitting with me I’d come looking for him. It was real and the feeling was like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders. And it was effective immediately. I can’t remember the last time I’d been that happy.
When I got back to the office I gathered my belongings and never looked back. Never missed it, no regrets.

I’ve said for a few years that the 3 months between HS graduation and starting college is the freest you’ll ever be.
Never a time where you can make money but have no responsibilities than that 3 magical months. It’s like post nut clarity. If you could bottle it up and sell it you’d be rich.

The 120 days between my divorce being finalized, and the ex taking the kids completely away. Everything is going to be fine, see them every week (at least) for practice, dance, oooh, nope.
The culmination of the fun, which I'm still paying for, is sitting in Barca in '23, snacking on tapas on the beach boulevard, drinking a beer or three, and just relaxing.

About 3 months after I quit drinking after over 30 years of being a useless drunk.. the pain and misery finally left me. Life has been on a different level since that day…

Right after paying off my mortgage. At the time I had zero debt. Cars were paid off, didn’t owe a thing to anyone.
From that day on the ability to pay off any debt I’ve had has relieved the stress everyone feels about money.

The fact that this post has a downvote shows that some people hate to see others are not as miserable as they are.
I think that's an awesome memory to hold and you can probably visualize it like it was yesterday

Skiing down Mary Jane on fresh powder as the train chugged down through the gorge in the distance.
Fishing weed-lines in the gulf for bull dorados and skipping across the water at 60 knots in the moonlight with ships in the distance and rigs lighting the way.
Doing anything you really enjoy at a high level (to you) and paying full attention to what you’re doing
