So you grew up on the Westbank?

Actually that’s one of the few areas of the City i didnt live in.. Dad was a homebuilder so we moved around a lot, to wherever the market was hot.. Lived in Kenner, Old Metairie, Mandeville, even New Orleans East.. Chalmette and the Westbank are two places i heard a lot about but rarely, if ever, visited.

Well it's notorious as a gay hangout (and for the raunchy stuff that used to go on there), and their drag brunch has become quite the destination, especially for bachelorette parties, but all walks of life frequent that place.

I've been a few times and it's a good time really.

When i moved to new orleans, districts like the bywater and marigny were unlivable.

Lived in New Orleans until it became a caricature full of hipsters and transplant Yankees. Uptown and MidCity were liveable until about 10 years ago. Now the thick stench of smug makes them unbearable.

Its changed dramatically in the past 3 years. They have new management and have focused more on the restaurant operation, and its gone upscale. Still has a drag brunch on certain weekends, but so do many other venues throughout the city.

Yeah I guess it just has this stigma of being a gay country club but yes I do see some of my female and hipster friends post pics of them hanging out there.

Don’t get annoyed. He’s 30. Thinks he’s more of an “adult” than you. And he’s from the fricking north shore.

I wish I was still in my 30’s and I’ve never in my life lived on the Northshore. I’ve been fortunate enough to be paying property taxes in Orleans Parish for the past 20 years.

so You’re a Kennah Bruh?

You keep saying “the New Orleans area”

You’ve actually never lived in Orleans have you?

It’s okay....everyone likes to say they’re “from New Orleans”, until they get called out.

Is code for lock you car doors?

I remember reading a post on here where a guy was complaining about his car getting "broken into" in NOLA, where part of the way through, he admitted he left it unlocked. That's not even a break in in my book. That's just dumbarsary in any city. He gave that stuff away!

I think it's the fact that you think people don't refer to the area as the bywater.

I realize people refer to it both ways.

But that’s not what he said I was wrong about.
