We have bulky trash pick up. There are some limitations (like no car parts or something odd like that) but they'll pick up couches and such. Runs once a month. No extra cost, part of the trash contract since we went to the big green cans.
Dangit, we only have that once per year in the Fall. Twice a year would be nice.

Hey, is that furniture still available?

There is a public landfill in the parish I live in. I just load up whatever it is I want to toss, drive to said landfill, and drop it off.

I get rid of stuff on FB Marketplace all the time. I post it as free and it's always gone within a day.

Curb, someone will pick it up; I’ve put 2 dead big screens out there, couch, Christmas trees. It never lasts more than a day or 2

Just dump it in a body of water or a waterway. Fish will think it’s a reef.

Depending on where you live call the local volunteers of America or local St. Vincent de Paul

Goodwill will pick up large items like furniture.

Lowes typically has one of those big semis parked in their front lot. Usually unlocked. I take stuff and dump it inside that truck late at night.

This is what the woods were invented for.

Do you have a habitat for humanity store close by?

Slippy, are you in the New Orleans area? Bridgehouse will take it.
Thanks, Chicken. Yes I am. I have a decent armoire entertainment center that I don’t need. Nobody uses these things anymore, but maybe someone would But I don’t have a truck. And selling for $100 seems like a hassle.
We are renovating room by room so this will be a recurring issue.

A lot of places won't take armoires. We had a small one that the previous owners left and Goodwill, Restore, and Salvation Army wouldn't take it. Ended up taking it ourselves to a local place that helps women with kids escape abusive relationships.
They were super picky about anything furniture. We had to send pictures before they would even schedule pickup. SA took everything but the armoire.

Google “how to dispose of a 115 lb woman’s body”

If you put it out on the curb and someone doesn't take it before sunset, I'd be shocked.
