No way to answer this as it depends on what you need. The best firm for one problem won't be the best for another. You need to look at individual lawyers, not firms.

Only one I’ve even had to deal with.
And I have friends that work there

I prefer Dudley DeBosier. They’re the official injury lawyers of the LSU Fightin Tigers.

For those reading at home wondering why you’ve seen this multiple times in this thread, you’re supposed to read it all as one as “Do we cheat them, and how?”
It’s a very funny joke told by very funny people.

Flanagan Partners out of New Orleans are really good well respected smaller firm. Thomas Flanagan is one of the best attorneys I've ever dealt with and was one of the attorneys sent to Trump for consideration of appointment to the Eastern District.

This board is overly obsessed with lawyers.

prestige to rationalize billing 2200 hours
Either you're doing a tremendous amount of work on no sleep, or you're doing a tremendous amount of coke/meth.

Or a tremendous amount of bilking the client.

Or they're doing what every defense lawyer does and bills about 12 hours for 8-9 hours of work.
The last firm I worked at, I think only one attorney was remotely honest with his timesheets.
I'll never forget reviewing one lawyers time sheet for the day when he got in at 9:30 and left at 1 to catch a flight. Billed 10 hours.
