Most successful was Miller lite. Hands down, no contest.
Miller started an entirely new segment of the beer market. And they blew the beer market up.
At the time, anything ‘light’ or ‘diet’ ‘low calorie’ was associated with women. Beer, on the other hand was associated and ads targeted men. Now how do you get men to drink, what had a feminine association? Ingenious advertising, that’s how. And I believe, at the end of that campaign, Miller lite was the #2 selling beer in the nation. Bud heavy was and still is #1.
