I prefer Clearwater or Meridian. TC is getting a bit too crowded.

Lafayette
New Orleans (if you like New Orleans, personally I don't)
Lake Charles
If you're into fishing and the "salt life" in general, then Houma isn't too bad.

Lake Charles is expecting a 50,000 population increase in the next five years.
I'm kind of worried about that. How many of those will be permenant residents? I see apartments and housing going up all over the area to accommodate the influx of people. How many of these dwellings will be empty in 10 years?

The Irishman (Cyril Leonard) is putting up an entire neighborhood of rental houses right next to Maplewood. They'll be slums in 10 years. My plan is to finish up this remodel and move south to carlyss (like everyone else apparently).

I loved growing up in lake Charles and its about to boom. I loved being 30 minutes from gulf and 2 hours from Houston

I would never live anywhere in north Louisiana and you can throw Alexandria in there too

Lafayette, lake Charles and north shore or the only answers here

If I were straight out of college and made good money you could convince me to live in warehouse or uptown of NOLA

St Tammany hasn't had a police jury setup since 2000. Thankfully, corruption is under attack all over the metro Nola area including st Tammany. Tons of infrastructure projects ongoing currently to help address traffic issues such as widening of highway 190 in mandeville and highway 21 from i-12 to Covington. It's certainly 10 years too late for the infrastructure upgrades but at least they are finally happening. Dotd projects take way too long and usually seem to happen long after they are needed. This isn't isolated to st Tammany. I

I don't think the infrastructure is ready at all. The schools aren't ready. Businesses. No one.

I think probably a quarter of them will stay. I'll be selling in 3-4 years and moving more than likely Moss Bluff.

If you move to Carlyss, you better watch out for the rapists and the crack dealers that these man camps will attract according to the people out there. Nothing but crime and terrible people. Carlyss is going to be the new north Baton Rouge because of these temp houses.

But you'll get tired of telling Texans, "No, ma'am, the Indian casino is 150 miles south of here."
