Gotcha. But I want to point to the fact that alot of that flux is oil based. Oil is good, russia is good. Oil is bad, russia is bad. And putin has little to do with that. Unless he bombs some eastern folks. .....wait! Lol. Im asking what has he done besides be an ex kgb and give hope? A very large sum of russians are over him but they're not american and dont have the level of free speech. Hell, dude may have more civilian supporters right here than in his own back yard.

You're right about the oil thing and it will for the foreseeable future be a vulnerability in the Russian economy. As for Putin himself, he worries me. He reminds me too much of another leader who took a bankrupt country and lead them through an amazing economic turn around all while having aspirations of regaining past national prestige and control over areas no longer part of that country.

Thanks. Is that chart implying that they will make a nice rise in power play by the next 20 years? There are a lot of parts to this shite. One must do extensive research before he speaks. Thats why I hardly speak politics.

Winning at what?

As far as the "obsession" goes, it's more about respect for the man than what he's currently doing. It's like Arnold Schwarzenegger. He may not have been the best governor, but people respected him because of what he's accomplished on his way there.

People admire individuals that do great things. What great things have you done?

Except that Putin forgot the "amazing economic turnaround" part.

Trump and Putin's popularity is a reaction to the rampant, relentless political correctness that's been shoved in our faced for the last, say, 7 years or so.

I think it's amusing, but I don't think it will lead to constructive things.

That's the $60,000 question. What will Russia do over the coming decade or so? What we know at this point is they're well underway with a huge military build-up to once again put Russia's military might on "world power" level.

One thing that many experts have pointed to that might slow or reverse this process is the current recession that Russia is in. However, it looks like this recession, while not over, has bottomed out and will likely be reversed by this time next year. This means Putin will be able to continue to build up, train, and modernize Russia's armed forces as he sees fit.

This leads to the question of what his intentions might be. There have been reports that he wishes to once again stretch Russia's borders westward into central Europe (LINK) (LINK). And considering the sorry state of the defenses of Europe, there's not a lot standing in his way even today, much less if he's given a few more years to continue rearming. What worse, the U.S. is seen as both already being war weary, overstretched, and with weak leadership. Add all these factors together and it's a recipe for potential disaster in Europe if Putin indeed does decide to move west one day in the coming years.

That's not true. Look back in this thread where I posted a chart showing Russia's GDP in 1999 when Putin came to power and look at what happened after that.

Putin's country has gotten stronger. Obama's country has gotten weaker. Putin stronger. Obama weaker. This isn't rocket science as to why people lampoon one and juxtapose their respective characteristics.

This is about the unwarranted love fest for Putin. Little chance to campare any POTUS to other nations. We are run by countless interests. Been that way since the beginning. Others may be influenced but their leaders actually run things mostly from their own hearts, minds and power. And that may be why we are the most powerfull. Idk!

Russia aint much better today than in 99! They are about to crash if oil doesn't make things right. And its always been about oil. They have nothing else to depend on. So tell me again why he hasn't created or bettered that situation in 16 years? I'll hang up and listen.

Congrats, in addition to being a racist, you're also an idiot.

Russia is in much better position than it was in 1999. Russia couldn't project a hologram in 1999, let alone military power. Things have changed dramatically.

They have potent alliances with China, Iran, Syria, and others. Russia doesn't have to be a super power right now, they don't have to have a blue water navy. But they add strength to a consortium of nations that can and likely will make life more difficult for the U.S.

Just like your opening post attributing this whole discussion to whites, your narrow view of the world, your hubris, and asshatted mentality are exactly what's wrong with this country - and betray your motives.

Go run off and play with the children on your nearest SJW campus. Let people with real intellect and backbone deal with Putin and the rest of the world. And if we want to make a few jokes about a fake crying POTUS that oozes weakness, juxtaposed against a guy that projects strength and is in fact very intelligent although dangerous, then we'll do that. You see, we can actually handle that and understand it. You cannot.

You rush onto this forum wanting to blast Putin in an attempt to lower him down to Obama's level of poor leadership. You think that if somehow you can make everyone look like a turd, you can convince us that Obama is the shiniest turd of the bunch.

Run along now. Let the adults talk.

He's the despot of a borderline third world country. woofrickinghoo. How many of you tools in his fan club would be willing to live there?

That said, juxtaposed with Obama he looks much more attractive
