Look at the sorry state of Russia when he first took office in 1999 and compare that to where they're at today. Yeah their economy has it's issues, although it looks like the bottom of the current recession has already been passed. But overall, he's taken what was a bankrupt, failed state and is returning it to world power status.

Well Putin has cried a coulpe of times on tv, he hasn't done shite to improve the shitshow that has been since is rule, totally dependent on oil, can't create shite and refuses to join the new era. Listen folks, muscle runs a shitshow these days. Intelligence, creativity, and allies!!

Russia aint much better today than in 99! They are about to crash if oil doesn't make things right. And its always been about oil. They have nothing else to depend on. So tell me again why he hasn't created or bettered that situation in 16 years? I'll hang up and listen.

I agree the oil markets have and will continue to hurt Russia's economy. But they also have a massive footprint on the natural gas industry as well. In fact, most of central Europe is quite dependent on Russian natural gas.
and Russia has got more of than anyone else....

That's the last year I can find on that chart. I did find this though showing Russia's GDP fell .8% in 2015....
That's still nowhere near enough of a dip to return them to the late 90's GDP levels where Russia was for all intents and purposes bankrupt.

Well two things are certain.
(1) Oil will at some point rebound. Looks like this will happen in the later part of 2016. And Russia still has a whole lot of oil.
(2) The world is using more and more natural gas.
And as I've already shown, Russia has more natural gas than anyone else.
So unless something happens between now and the second half of this year to make Russia collapse, they look to be getting ready for an economic turn around in the coming years.
