I don't know, I lived there for 10 years, including during the peak murder years in the 90s, this seems different. What's disturbing about the crime now is the randomness of it. Even a few years ago, you could remain safe by not straying off certain streets and remaining in the whd, uptown, or garden district. My family averaged going to NO every 3 months or so. Last time I went, I carried the whole time because things feel so unstable. We won't be going back for a while, other places to travel where I don't feel the need to be armed even in the city's best hotels and restaurants. Mitch needs to get this shite under control.

Not really sure how you are misinterpreting this......also, there have been many landmark rulings by the Supreme Court concerning the 2nd amendment and none of them take away the right to form a militia of a free state.
