What’s something everyone expects will happen the next 50 years but will not?

That one is a definite. I don’t see any way that happens, at least on large scale. Just wastes way too much energy to be efficient. Maybe if you could get a fusion reactor on board, but that’s well over a hundred years off to get it in a compact vehicle.
