Totally, but still clip are rare AF. So when someone says clip we all know they mean magazine. Yet it triggers people.

I think it's more a negative about people who get upset over word technicalities than people who are wrong about terminology. Similar to cement truck or hot water heater. Those also trigger people on here but when people say the word everyone knows what they mean. Plenty of worse slang out there. No need to be "feeling some type of way" over word usage.

Cement trucks mix concrete. Cement is an ingredient in concrete. Technically yes there is cement being "mixed" but it is not the final product, only an ingredient.

Clip - Magazine Who cares?

Like some other poster said - technicalities aren't that important.
PS Think about whether any firearm manufactured today actually has what we'd technically call a "clip". I don't think that there are any. That's probably the reason why the language usage and meaning of the term is transforming.

I guess some ccw teachers make their students resent it or something.
Anti-gun people frequently use the term so I think gun people jump on it as a sign that anti-gun people are ignorant.
Just like with terms like "assault rifle"
