A six figure salary with a shite retirement plan like 30-40 years for 60%
Or a medium level plan where you start low but can eventually do alright and earn 90% after 25 years...

Can you translate this for us poor people without pensions?
I always wondered how they work.

$60k minimum guaranteed a year is a "shite retirement"?

I think he's talking about his personal retirement, not his help.

I kinda wish I was poor enough to qualify for a Roth.

Do pensions still exist for non-government workers? I honestly wouldn’t bank on a pension existing in 30 years, maybe if it was federal/backed by the USA. Municipal, parish/county pensions are suspect, state as well. Especially if you’re not retiring for another 20+years.

My company (bank) has a really good pension actually. You have to put your time in but it scales up. I think it starts out at like 3% a year and if you’re there for 20 years, your golden with your 401k on top of that.

Who's paying a 90% pension after 25 years? If this is your idea of a "medium level plan" what's a high end plan, 110% after 15 years?

Pension plan/thread
Eta: I know I a plant baw with a pension. Only guy I know with one now. He works in administration(non union) and is not leaving anytime soon. He loves it. I’m hoping to get a job there in the new year. My pop worked at the picayune for a very long time. Back then a pension plan is all you had. He was lucky to be in on it.
