I feed my beta fish 2-3 times a week. How fat is your fish?

Really? He looks pretty normal. Have always fed him 3-4 little pellets twice a day. He’s 3 years old, can’t be too bad lol

As I recall, she’s kinda partial to an adult white snake in a rubber.

I know this board's hatred of them but, a spider. Tarantula specifically. Easy to take care of.

-One cricket or super worm a week.
-Keep the temperature around 70°-80°, as long as you're comfortable, they're comfortable.
-They don't require you to hold them. Just let them stay in their enclosure their whole life. They don't even need that much space.
-Zero odor
-Fun to watch them attack their prey.

Brachypelma smithi aka Mexican Red Knees are great starter species, but there are other good starters.

If people would just take the time to learn and understand them, they wouldn't be terrified.

Daddy used to buy me snakes and gators from the reptile farm, and when they got too big, we released them into the golf course pond.

Whoever mentioned a bearded dragon here, what all is involved with this? Any odor? Is it something you can take out of the terrarium and sit in your lap while you watch TV?

A Green Iguana would be a great starter pet. They live to be 15 years and could be a great pet for your boy all through high school and even into college!

I can't answer the odor part since I don't own one, but yes you can take them out and hold them, they're very docile and they just sit still.

No, it’s not. I have 5 snakes (4 pythons and a boa) and they do not stink. They eat 2-3 mice every other week and drop a turd around once every couple weeks. With minimal maintenance, they are not smelly at all. Years ago I had a guinea pig - that thing was a shitting machine. And hamsters are just rats with short tails - mine spent all their time gnawing on shite trying to get out the cage. Most critters are much more work than a snake.

Lady I work with got a pet tortoise. Thing is pretty damn cool actually and not much maintenance. They live forever so your kid can hand it down to his kid. Hell, it might even make it down to your son’s grandson.

One of my friends has a tourtiouse and his father told him this.
I now want to get some kind of African tortoise to give to my son to pass down. That thing could see some gernerations
