High pressure has been over this area of the country for the last 2 summers it seems. Keeps anything from building up. It’s also easier to heat up.

Last year around this time, we went about 2 months without a drop in east Baton Rouge.

More localized cloud seeding from the fatties idling indefinitely in the McDonald’s drive thru line.

Xiden* and his evil dims have HAARP jacked up to 11 and are frying the ionosphere with ultra high frequency radio waves keeping it from raining in Texas and Louisiana.

Haven't had enough rain to wet a paper towel for a few weeks now in my part of N.O.

The yard is showing cracks in the clay based soil that are 1/2 inch wide and a few inches deep.

The only good thing is the grass growth has slowed enough to where I'm only cutting it 3 time a month now.

You've probably guessed I'm not "that guy" who needs a lawn to look like the greens at Augusta.

The NOLA drought is getting legit concerning. The area had a jump on BR and places to the west as far as drought goes. Using the NOLA area numbers, for the year you guys are 22.55" below Normal through August 13.

It is rivaling the drought of 2000.

Getting it daily in North Alabama.
That doesn’t count to the climate alarmists.

They take every single weather anomaly and claim it’s “climate change!” Regardless of the weather being normal a state away.

It hasn't rained on us in Houston since end of June and temps are consistently hitting 102 the last couple of weeks.

If it wasn't for that November, which saw 11.72" of rain, that drought would have been way worse because December was fairly dry as well.

In South Alabama we had a very at June. It’s just the weather pattern are in and chalk it up to El Niño and we this was coming. My grass is crunchy so we love some rain.

High pressure and drier air resulting in less humidity, so all hell doesn't occur in the afternoons.

Comparing the YTD Accumulation graphs of the NOLA and Mobile areas shows just how localized drought can be.

Feels like we haven't gone 8 hours without a thunderstorm in the Birmingham area over the past week. Never cools things down though, and actually seems like the heat is worse. The only time it really cooled down was a few nights ago, and that just meant it dipped into the high 80s a few hours earlier than usual. By 10 the next morning it was back in the mid to upper 90s again.

August hasn't been too far off from Normal so far for Birmingham as far as temperatures go. The 5"+ of rain has helped in that regard. The kick in the nuts is the humidity/dew point.
