What were the preseason odds on LSU winning the SEC and Pats winning the Super Bowl that year?
started a +6000, but he said September 10th.
After an opening season loss to the Bengals, the following week in another loss, the Patriots would lost all-pro QB Drew Bledsoe. On September 16th the Patriots were 0-2 and were going with an inexperienced 6th round pick at QB. That's when the odds would have peaked.

Tell my dad to invest in Apple bc this thing called the iPod is about to come out the next month.
Then I'd tell myself, who was 10 in 2001, to remember the name Bitcoin and in early summer 2010 just take a few hundred dollars and spend it on Bitcoin when they cost less than 1¢ each, then sell in December 2017 when they reached over $19k each

Honestly, I personally wouldn't do anything.
I was 11, living in a third world country. So preventing it or taking advantage of it financially would be quite impossible.
Now I'm a citizen of the greatest nation in the world, great family, great career. Wouldn't chance it.
Hell the fact that I'd have to live there for a whole year with that knowledge might just frick it up for me regardless.

It doesn't matter. It literally doesn't matter. If you buy into the butterfly effect, there is absolutely no way to know how the future turns out, so any course of action is equally as valid. Just as you have no idea how your decisions today will affect your life 19 years down the line, there is no way to know how doing anything different on Sept. 10, 2001 would make your life different today or even if it would make it better. Weren't you paying attention during the Back to the Future documentary series?
I would do whatever made me happiest for that year. Kinda like I do now.
So, um, hookers and blow. But high end hookers and REALLY good blow.

And this same was done everywhere. And it’s still being done. 100% of the time, Sec 8 destroys the existing neighborhood.

Am I me in 2001, or am I me from today and there’s still the original me from 2001 too?
How the hell am I supposed to remember everything I did to make sure everything stays the same? I’d rather not go at all if I’m not a duplicate of my 2001 self. I wouldn’t want to change something unknowingly and essentially kill my two kids I currently have that may no longer exists when I get back.

I would call the airlines that had the terrorists listed as passengers and name them all. I would say they were planning to hijack the planes and how they were going to do it, and which flights. For added credibility, I’d list the entire manifests for the flights.
I’m sure I would be arrested as a suspect because of my knowledge about the plan but I wouldn’t mind spending a year in jail in the past to stop that horror and have those bastards arrested.

I would ask Kanye West what his opinion of George W. Bush was at the time...

Nah... as tempting as it sound, I'm pretty happy with the way most things are going I'm my life and those close to me. Wouldn't risk it. Not for that year.

What are the chances you could actually get the flights shut down if you announced exactly what was going to happen

I used to think about going back and buying old baseball cards...but by the time I stopped thinking that way it was all junk. I also am quite aware of the whole debate about going back and whacking Ol' Adolf before anyone knew who he was in the early 20s. So Sept 10, 2001 - Sept 9, 2002...
I would have listened when my finance called from Florida after the first tower was hit and have seen the 2nd tower get hit. (Also would have throat punched my dickhead muslim TA who got mouthy with me when I gave attending that day's computer lab a hard pass.) I did beat the gas rush (went between the towers falling) and while people were in gas lines fast afternoon I was getting groceries.
Passed on "wasting" money by putting money on the Patriots (Bowling instructor was out there and offered to place our bets) and then actually wasted money on the Rams while in Vegas last year. So I'd hand over the wedding fund betting on a backup QB. (I'd also hoard every 2000 Brady card I could get my hands on.) Little things that likely wouldn't butterfly in a negative way but benefit us in the safest way possible.
Got married that June so I'd know not to let my groomsmen get in my head right before we walked up there. Also would remind my wife to have her overnight bag with her so I didn't have her family barging into our suite the next morning.
Would likely have packed more of the apartment up in May and June...that was marriage fight #1, our definitions of "packed" was much different. Also would have taken the bypass of Manchester, TN instead of sitting in stopped traffic along I-24 for 6 hours before doubling back to Murfreesboro to get a hotel room for the night.
Not much else I'd change. Would enjoy the frequency of newlywed sex again. Give a hard pass to a few of the temp jobs I had when I first got to Florida (and continue spending all morning in the pool until I got into a real job.) And closing the 365 days I would probably just enjoy newlywed life knowing how easy that time of life is compared to when you have all the adult payments and feeding two teenagers with crazy metabolisms.
That may sound selfish but I think you'd have no effect on 9/11. At best you're just changing the names at ground zero and very likely that plane in Shanksville wouldn't have that mix of heroes which prevented it from taking out Capital Hill. With a year you might be able to have a very minor effect on Gulf War II but W was going to get his revenge on Saddam for the assassination plot against HW. Again just changing names.

This likely would just delay it and it would happen another day after the terrorists regrouped. I think to truly prevent it (on that day or a future day) you would have to identify the terrorists in such a way as to have them locked up and future airport security tightened.

That puts me back to my redshirt senior year of undergrad
Dating a hot blonde, living with good friends, enjoying the college life..... absolutely would go back.
No way I fix 9/11/01 with that short of notice, but the little maturity that I have gained would go a very long way.

Would buy every Tom Brady rookie card I could find. Don’t think college freshman me would be stopping 9/11
