One huge problem with going back in time is money. You would need cash since today's credit cards would be worthless. That cash would have to be 20 years old so as not to draw attention to yourself. You would need a lot of it as well to be able to survive.
Also, IDs would be an issue. I just got a new DL. It expires in six years. You'd have to live like an illegal immigrant for an entire year.

I don't see any human action butterflying the tsunami. It's a geologic event.
Katrina - MAYBE, but that would require human activity to have enough of an effect on the atmosphere.

I’d call the fbi and lay it all out. Then I’d pull out my iPhone and show them downloaded (since the cell and WiFi wouldnt work) video newscasts of the attacks. Then prepare to be sent to an asylum.

I don’t see any way for me to be able to stop 9/11. The only thing I could hope to do is go would the alarms with as many government agencies as possible, which no one would believe until after 9/11. I’d probably get thrown into G-Bay as a “collaborator” when I give them the “I knew because I’m a time traveler” line.
